i will reiterate the standard i set for myself this offseason: if the results this season are the same or worse than last season, richardson should be fired. calling for his job last year with a historically bad roster was unproductive at best and asinine at worst. i was one of the most vocal opponents of the fire lurich crowd last year. i believe this year's roster is vastly improved, and though that improvement still amounts to a bottom feeder team, i think there's enough rope here to start tying a noose with if things start to get real ugly.
I think he's probably fired regardless barring something drastic. Yet there's no reason to not just wait until the offseason unless there is a locker room coup.

What positives does LR bring to the table? Specifically for the younger players.
What negatives does LR bring to the table? Specifically for the younger players?

I think hes an average coach with below average talent.

Not a great 1 game start but he fixed the first line mid game. Hopefully he fixes the PP2 next game.

Bedard Vlasic Kurashev have excelled, Korchinski was fine, and Reichel was a mess. Im not sure how you can judge his impact on younger players yet.

I also understand Bedard would excel under any coach.

I really don't get previous callings for Richardson's job. He had awful teams. This team is not awful, but on paper is better. That said, it's idiotic to call for his job after a few pre-season games and 1 regular season game. Give the man a chance this year-----and if they are on the same trajectory as last year after 20-40 games and there's a quality coaching candidate WHO CAN DEVELOP YOUNG TALENT, then make the switch. The Hawks are not in a Joel Quenneville "win now" place.
Pretty much exactly where I am on this.

Bedard is now 1 goal in last 42 shotsvon goal for last 15 GP (last 14 of last sesson +1 GP this season)..

A very CONCERNING fail at JUST 2.38 % shooting efficiency...this from the kid supposed to have a Generational shot which was supoisedvto be his best asset!

Where did his shot efficiency disappear to..

You have wonder WTF is he doing with alk the extra practice time he is spending still on thevice after Hawks practices?

15 games and onlyv2.38% in beating goalies?

Maybe he should stop practicing Michigan's and simply.. you know do the "shot and a goal" idea that Goal Scorerrs do...the king er he keeps not beating goalies the more mere shotsvon goal will not be considered "good performance..

Besides 42 shots in ladt 15 games is not even3 per gMe...hardly Generational winger!

He has to both Generate more shots on goal per game and bury more shotsvinto the net.

He has to take over games with Goals ...not with justc1 primary and 1 secondary (rourine) assist...

Sorry to be in his case bit if the goal scoribg does nit cone back to him in quantities we expect,he will lose his "special" staris very quickly.

He can olay-make,BUT his special status came from the shotcthat terrorized goalies in junior...
He has to show that shot again..or quickly will lose any excitement designating hom as a star let alone Geberational talent.

Perimeter shotsxwilk not fix the problem.. he mist get tobtgecskotcand bury hogh dangercscoribg chances.

He must bexa game-vhanger difference-maker and not just I got my 1 orx2asists and tgat is a night's work mentality..

Ackitbofvpresdurevon hom ..but conebon 2 38 % shooting will not cut it.

He has a point about Bedard's shot though.
the goal scoring will come as he matures and the team comes into its own. could be that he's always primarily a set up guy. it doesn't bother me that a bunch of people may or may not have hyped his shot prior to his draft (which is what fiddy is griping about) and now he isn't scoring in bunches 2 games into the season.

It's not 2 games into the season. He's played 70 NHL games and scored 22 goals.

Oh no! He should have scored 50 playing on an AHL team last year.

Yeah, I could count on one hand how many times he got set up for a goal last year. He’s had literally no help.

I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that some fans show concern that Bedard's drag shot is known throughout the league, and that he is essentially in a scoring drought from last season...... but I have no doubt that he will get better with experience. It ain't an easy transition for a kid drafted by a team trying to claw back after years of destruction brought on by incompetent management.... a team with literally no offense to help a rookie along.
