Rempe wasn't playing so in their heads they aren't allowed to play physical or else they might have to *gasp* fight their own battles.

The game was over before the first commercial break. Id say credit to them for not giving up, but they kinda did by the end.
They had chances down 2-0, guys got good looks but the goalie made the saves. Kreider got robbed like twice from right in front. And then that double penalty bullshit with Cuylle and Kreider was atrocious. Not saying they would have won but they didn't just check out when things went bad. They kept pushing. It's just one of those streaks. Guys start finding their games and other guys get lost. I thought Zibs line was good but the Chytil line was bad.

I watched Devils players blocking shots with their bodies, it looked like the rivalry meant something to them.
i think that's just how they play.

i also think it's worth noting that jack hughes plays a panarin style skill game and influences the rest of the teams style - not an issue for the devils currently because they're buying in, have a D corps who can skate defend and move the puck, and are reasonably well coached. They're playing well.

the only part of that formula the Rangers *cannot* currently fix without player movement is the D.

You have been a fan forever Bob and thru good and bad.....and you have experience with players/management and such....what would your gameplan look like moving forward ? I'm interested in hearing it from a seasoned Ranger fan .
In all my years, I can’t ever remember a team heading south so fast. Yes, there were warning signs but a lot of the vitals were fine until two weeks ago. I saw the Rangers game in Seattle and was very happy with how buttoned up their defense was. I wonder if a) Laviolette has lost the room and b) Drury subsequently lost the room with his “trade everyone” comments. Drury may make some smaller trades if he has anything percolating. They are lucky to have a soft schedule for the next week but If things don’t straighten out very soon, I expect management changes.

It's not you, it's a pet peeve of mine. A lot of people do it. I don't think it's that big of a deal to use mental illness to make some points but it annoys me when people do that and use it incorrectly. Even if it wasn't mental illness I probably would have been annoyed because it's used wrong. It's like saying "I could care less". But thank you.
Hey. Not the first time I’ve been wrong, and sure it won’t be the last. Life is too short to deny your mistakes, right bud? I actually like to know when I’ve messed up. I appreciate you pointing it out like a gentleman.

Thank you, I didn't think I did like a gentleman but I'm glad to hear. It's a very common way people use it. I remember Chris Berman using it. And I think it's mostly misusing something that bothers me about it. But also the weird disconnect between how we treat the "r word" and how we treat mental illness. I never got that.

I hear you. That last part was exactly what I was getting at.

The scouting staff here just is awful at the pro level. they thought Nemeth was an NHL defenseman, also thought Sammy Blais was a top 6 forward. That is just an NHL scouting staff issue.
Been saying the same thing. We keep shitting on the coaching staff, but folks, we are making bad player personnel moves, Drury has been brutal in this area for the most part.

I'd rather lose than hire that POS.
He's been cleared by the NHL and facts don't care about your feelings. He's a winner and will give this team the reality check it needs. Lav is a great coach, but Q is clearly in a different class. How has Lav held this core group accountable? Why are they constantly exposed in their own end? Lav is responsible for systems and allocating ice time. Why hasn't Mika been benched for stretches? Why haven't Trouba / Lindgren been benched for stretches? Gallant actually called out this group. The coddling needs to end.

He got cleared after covering up SA. Glad you dont care about that sort of stuff. But as long as we get our coach, then who cares, right?

Couldve had both or either in lieu of Lindgren/Trouba. And I guess its only Rangers that fall off a cliff in play once they hit 30.
That's because it's more like they're 26, 27, and their analytics are steadily rolling down the wrong side of the cliff, and were never that good, and people are screaming about it, and the Rangers are just like

SA is abhorrent. Q clearly shares in the responsibility of what happened in Chicago. He's publicly stated he blames himself for not doing more. He took remedial actions to better himself. He also spoke with KB. Were you privy to their conversation? Endorsing Q for bench boss doesn't mean I tolerate SA. What an insane insinuation.
