I get what Valley is saying but I'm also not sure it's valid. Unfortunately the reporter (or the clip is too short) did not really ask about it in a very clear way. Any one would be like "what does that mean?" in his situation.
Ask: "When did you decide to attempt a Forsberg goal on your break-away attempt?"
Ask: "That's generally a low percentage chance goal. Did you think it gave you the best chance to score a goal in that situation?"
Maybe then you can get into stuff involving Valley's comment. "Had you scored such a goal, you know it would be all over the highlight reels..."
"A Rangers commentator thought that by attempting this goal that would be on all the highlight reels while you were up 5-1, by not attempting a higher percentage shot, you were looking to make yourself standout at the expense of their goalie which he thought was disrespectful."
There's a world where Shesty' body language gave Hughes the impression that he was drifting stiff side and that was a valid shot attempt but we will never know.
