It's literally textbook tripping. Defender's stick under the puck controller's skate, he loses balance = automatic penalty. That's called 100 out of a 100 times.

You might want to check that replay again. No question about it, easy call for the reff.

Ok, if the rules are like that it's so. So penalty is justified.

It's a weak penalty to me personally, but you can't really say that it wasn't textbook tripping.

USA were better without question. Olkinuora a bit sleepy or shaky in the beginning but stepped up later on.
Our defending looked really questionable to be honest.
The US seemed dangerous every single time and their PP looked really good. They are really fired up and playing without pressure and it shows.

Yes, though in my opinion you can't blame Olkinuora for the goal. He couldn't see anything. But you are right and USA is dangerous in PP. I hope the Finns can avoid the 2 - 1.

Yes. But it was bad period for USA, because it's 1-1. Finns have played with big roster for the whole tournament and they can really start to put some gas while game progresses. US don't have many d-men and when applied some serious pressure to them while game goes on, i'm sure we'll see mistakes.

I love Björninens work effort and Anttilas long stick. Fourth line was our best in the first.

I hope to see more from Hartikainen, Armia, Manninen, Rajala and Granlund.
I expect more from the third line overall in a game like this. Pesonen, Armia and Lammikko can do better.
The first line should do better as well.

Teemu Hartikainen is Finland's best striker. He looks weird on the ice, but his skill level is very high, he kept the puck well on the blue line and actually allowed him to renumber the Americans and Finland turns the score.

GMs are overly concerned about size when they shouldn’t be. That’s all there is. He could obviously be a good NHLer.
