WC: Finland vs USA semi final!

yeah, they might be able to build some momentum on that going into the 3rd.

Chances are though that Jalonen just hammers home the message in intermission and Finland just gets out their tools and lunch pail and goes right back to work hammering away. This is a very organized and well oiled team.

Still, 3-2 though, you never know....................but i think I know now.
 
Now our usual 3rd period game, limit US to a few shots and we'll take this home.

Our 3rd periods have been incredible in this tournament so far. You can see USA is ridiculously offensively talented, so probably won't limit US to 3 shots. But if we limit them to like 5-10 shots, we should be able to win this.

I´m not pleased with our third and second line. I expect more from the talented Armia, the always hard working Pesonen and Lammikko so i guess i´m least satisfied with our third line this far.
Also, i want to see a bit more brilliance from the second line with the veteran Filppula, talented Rajala and hard working Sallinen.

Now I saw Hartikainen's excellent hockey IQ on goal 2-1. Hartikanien got a heavy puck, Hughes went into battle with him and then Hartman came. But Hartikainen didn't send a puck for the goal, he confused Hughes well and waited for Hartman to move. Then the puck sent him between his legs and got rid of him, he immediately eliminated two American players from the game and thus created a 4vs2 situation which Manninen used with an accurate shot. This is the very clever game of Finnish forwards, that they can capture the moment when they should not get rid of the puck.

He has a huge gorilla on his back, but he's still been great with the puck, absorbing defenders and then giving passes to space he opens with that.

Hopefully he can shake it off with a goal here, he deserves it.

Letteri having a brutal game. Disappointed in Quinn playing Letteri, Watson and Hayden together after the first goal Led directly to third goal. Would much rather see Barber or Bordeleau get a few shifts.
 
Wow, there was just about room for the puck there between the defenders legs and nothing more

The U.S did what it could but having just 4 d-men put them under the gun to start with against this team. Most impressive part of the game today was how Finland responded after the U.S tied it up after Finland had been controlling the play for a long stretch, they just dug in and went balls to the wall and tired the U.S out. That's the way to play!!
