Any ideas on who will play on the SVK PP line now that Knazko is out?

Some combination of Nemec, Becar, Mudrak and Stacha probably. Nemec should be a lock for the top unit, and since he's a righty, I would think Becar and Stacha plays the other side as they are both lefties. Mudrak is also a right handed shot.

Because Knazko missed parts of the game against Germany, I think Stacha ended up seeing the most icetime of Slovak defenseman in that game. From what I've seen of Stacha in the WHJC last year, as well as the Slovak Tipos Liga this season, he's the best defenseman on this Slovak team. Unfortunately he has only been average so far in this tournament, but with Knazko out he should see more responsibility. Hopefully he steps up.

Sucks about Knazko... Finland will control the game and win but it will be a good game... 5-2.

I am not going by any statistics here just memory, but I believe of the big 5 WJCU20 nations, Slovakia defeats Sweden and USA most often. It seems they never defeat Finland or Russia. We've lost the last four meetings and probably 8 of the last 10 against Finland. I remember Reway setting up Holenda for the winning goal in the bronze medal year, and Tomas Tatar scoring the shootout winner in Montreal, but that is about two wins over Finland in a decade.

It seems that referees also favours Finland against Slovakia. It's a shame. Slovakia usually play hard and are tough to beat. It's a preliminary round so don't think it will that good of a game because players aren't heart and soul into it and that's what both teams are known of.

These two wins "in a decade" makes Finland the team that Slovaks beat most often from the Top 6 nations along with USA (wins in 2009 and 2018). Since 2009 we beat Sweden once (out of 8 games), Czechs once, as well (out of 6 games) and never beat Canada and Rusisa.

Although I'm not sure I wouldn't be surprised if we've got the best record from the Top 6 nations at WJC against Finland.

Yet it means absolutely nothing for tonight's game.

I don't think referees favour Finland. The Finns just outskate our players most of the time, so they have to resort to taking penalties.

Why would you start Hlavaj in this one? Pretty good goalie in his own right but he got outperformed so far in this tournament...

I would have called holding on Rayen Petrovicky there, in case any Slovak is complaining about the refs.:)

yeah, the first shift Slovaks basically prepared great chances for the Finns
