We have not medalled here since 2011. The World Juniors were 2005. The last Olympic Medal is 2006? We got destroyed by the Swedes. We lost to Austria.

I cheer to the end but let's be realistic here.

That is why I specifically said in my post that we have looked better than today in the PAST FEW GAMES. Not all games at the tournament, the Sweden and Austria games were obviously disastrous. But the following three performances were far better than today in the first period. Much better effort now in the second period. I’d love an OT win but I’d rather have a defeat than a regulation win. (Not that there is much of a chance of a regulation win.)

Even worse, usually when he picks a fight or involves himself in a big scrum he picks the smallest player on the opposing team. He's a big, wet paper dog when it comes to toughness. If there's a player I dislike in the Finnish team it's him.

Nah, based on that they are a competitive team who had a sloppy 1st periodi and knew they can do better.

I think this game tells absolutely nothing about capability of the Czech team, Czechia has great team this year. Both teams have already set their mind to QFs.

Its possible, this isn't super team Finland

Neither is it a super team Slovakia, we've had better at the Olympics. This is the youngest Slovak NT team ever, experience farm for our future core.

Czechs are playing and putting more effort into the game than I expected. The level of fhis game has been alright. I think you can see these guys are professionals and not lazy couchpotatoes.
