Expect to see most of the opening night roster tonight and likely Woll starting

Interesting looks like Patches has played pretty much every game LOL which is fine including Lorentz as they are on PTOs so you wanna have a look at them a lot

Interesting to see McCabe not in. Did he play last game? I don't recall if he did.

Hoping no injuries for either team and a good game. Lets get this done and over with before the official season begins.

Its gonna be a drag to open the season. Leafs opening Habs and Devils season so it will be freakin' annoying LOL

Myers probably has the edge over Rifai because he's RD. Both have been really good in camp. Liljegren defintely isn't making the opening night lineup.

It clear Berube likes big boys back there

Rielly - Tanev
OEL - McCabe
Benoit - Myers

Is my guess

Completely agree.

Like the Rita Mae Brown phrase, 'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.', Leafs have to have a change in the post-season.

If this was still Sheldon coaching I'd be 100% on this.

Berube may just want to get a first-hand look at what should be a lethal PP in both seasons and see if he can't get more consistency. In any case, whatever he tries - roll it back or split it up - we won't know the answer until April.

Going to take a minute to appreciate not only that you didn’t incorrectly attribute it to Einstein, but actually got the author. Bravo good sir.

Running the same group of powerplay guys in the post season isn’t doing the same thing if the powerplay coach is a) using them differently b) employing different tactics. We just need to see what it ends up looking like.

They had different results from the same group a year before last...

It turns out that saying doesn't work with this.

Can’t stand the loaded up PP. We have enough talent for two solid PP units. Maybe it will change over the course of the season.
Its not about that. When the PP is over, you have to be able to put a rested line on the ice. If you spread all the names around, someone will be going on their line tired.

Agreed and I think Lilly is on the potential trade list.

I love Rielly. He can do no wrong. I just want to share something that Paul Maurice said about OEL last week in an interview: (paraphrasing)

OEL is "one of the better players in the league at getting pucks though to the net on the power play".

I know it's just one guy's opinion, but he really could make a change on the PP if given a chance.

No they won't. Your first PP gets a full minute break when PP2 is out there. When you load up your PP, and give almost the full 2 min to those guys, none of them are on the ice after the PP. This is another reason why it is better, and most teams run two units.

Wed can't come soon enough!

I read that as "weed can't come soon enough."

I just hope nobody gets hurt, having just watched 2 regular season games I'm finding it very difficult to care about a pre season game.

Just stay healthy
