This is the type of team who will target the Oilers best players. It’s the Paul Maurice way. Need to set the tone early, bruise and batter them.
Yup.

This is the pos overrated coach who was yelling at his players in game six to stop making hockey plays and to smoke our guys so we had nothing left for game seven.

Looked psychotic. Maurice looks like Niles Crane from Frasier yelling back there

Wild fan here pulling for your Oilers. I got em in 7. Im also a lifelong UND fan so I have a question for you. When the Oilers win the Cup will former UND player Stecher get his name on the Cup since he came to the team later in the season?
The rules typically say 41 games or a single game in the Cup Finals. Stetcher would certainly get his name on the cup with 66 games this year.

For players beyond that, teams can lobby to include someone if there are circumstances. I suspect they would consider trying that for Derek Ryan (36 games) even though the circumstances were moreso that he wasn't good enough. There really isn't anyone else though that I'd think they'd lobby for as noone below 41 games but Ryan played more than 19 other than Walman, Klingberg and Frederic who will certainly play at least one game in the final.

His current smarter than every coach schtick is really wearing on me.

Until he abandoned the Jets mid-season a couple years back, no coach with even close to as many regular season games as him had a worse playoff record, and here he keeps trying to act like he's Scotty Bowman or something.

The Panthers were a team ready to win before he joined and kudos to him for finding a way to push them across the line, but man has his ego gotten out of control these last 2 years.

I posted something similar a few days ago so apologies for the repeat, but he's caught Brian Burke syndrome. They've followed the same path.

Organically gruff, but affable personality that people like listening to. That's until they actually realized people liked listening to them, and learned that dropping a zinger in a press conference will put them in the headlines the next day. Then it just becomes a ridiculous, tiring schtick.

Brian Burke was somewhat of a normal human that even did his tie up! (another media whore move that he still pretends he always did) prior to going to the Leafs, then it just became ridiculous. Only took a few pressers from national media in the Final for Paul to start walking down the same road. It's too bad because I used to like him too.

Well here we are. Game 1 goes tomorrow in the series for all the marbles. A chance to redeem themselves and forever heal the heartbreak of Game 7 last year. A chance to take the early lead and put the pressure onto the shoulders of the Rat Squad.

I’m confident they will be ready but as always there are concerns. I have mine. What are yours?

* game 4.

Skinner is listening. 👀

I think that the whole "oILeRs HaVn'T pLAYed a TeAM lIkE FlORiDa yET!" narrative that the media runs on should actually be the other way around. The only team the Panthers have played that are even remotely on our level are the Leafs and they just laid down for them after going up 2-0.

I have a feeling we come out hungry and focused and kick their ass.
Imagine trashing them 8-1 in the first game!
