I would go with the Rangers doctors. The Rangers probably read the report out of Europe and they leaked the nature of the injury to Larry.

Larry says it's not as serious. Not sure who we should believe. Wonder if the Rangers doctors looked at it and it wasn't as serious, or if the doctors in Europe were taking the long-range approach to him and going slow with the recovery of a young player.

This is a first update that makes sense. Chytil would not be playing after suffering this injury or coming over to NA if it was serious. Second, Larry is an unofficial spokesman for the organization. Chytil will get treatment from the Rangers doctors and then will likely take part in the main camp.

Sorry for not having confidence in a NY team's medical staff, but the Rangers one is pretty good at determining when players come back.

I'd go with Larry. Surely Chytil was examined as soon as reasonably possible when he got to NY and Larry's report was not translated from another language.

Yeah the Rangers are pretty conservative with injuries, so if they think he could play in camp then I'm inclined to believe it.

If this were the Mets' staff, Chytil's family would be looking for a casket.

"Who do you believe? A. Larry Brooks, or B.... "

"B!!!"

The Rangers doctors seem to be pretty good actually. Knicks too. Maybe the Mets can hire them for the summer.

It's funny because the Rangers/Knicks are run by the original owner's idiot son, like the Mets with Jeff Wilpon. But the difference is that Jeff Wilpon is much more active in the day to day operations and has a man crush on the worst trainer in baseball, Ray Ramirez, who's been head trainer since 2004. The guy is a complete moron and has no idea how to train baseball players. He has them lifting weights like bodybuilders or lets them do whatever they want in the offseason and each player keeps breaking down EVERY SINGLE YEAR it's a total joke. He should have been fired at least 5 years ago, but Jeff Wilpon like Jim Dolan is improperly loyal to the wrong people

What evidence backs this up? I'm not challenging you, I've often wondered if evidence of this kind of thing was out there so it'd be like finding I've wondered about for a long time.

Players getting hurt a lot is obviously something I'm aware of just in case you're misinterpreting my question. I mean what evidence that these specific incompetent things are occurring.

Good to hear. TC would have been nice, but I think the main camp is what will go a long way towards determining where he spends this season.

i can tell you, best way is one more year in domestic league. no need for main camp...

Zlin's GM on the team situation:
"I have been told (by the Rangers GM) that unless Chytil is good enough to stay in the NHL, we will have him back."

as expected. They want that contract to slide for 2 years most likely so that they have contract space to sign additional PTO's...

They might have made these decisions sometime this past weekend or sometime today, so we might see more activity with PTO's and 1 year cheap deals for the NYR
