To me it sounds like both... He hurt his leg after falling due to vertigo (common with post concussion syndrome).

Seems plausible. However the folks who cover the team telling fans not to speculate, while they themselves speculate, is a good microcosm of the state of journalism nowadays.

oh 100%...

But I'm just a fan.. I am totally going to speculate to my heart's content.

Disclaimer: I'm full of crap.

That said... him experiencing vertigo this far away from the incident is a VERY bad sign. So let's hope it's not that.

He worked so hard for it to crumble in 24 hours, just sad for him overall as a human, forget about the player.

At least for his sake, he signed a nice contract.
I think the teams also tend to make "jobs for the boys" available for guys who have to retire young, if they want to stay around it. I know Jiri Fischer is still with the Red Wings organization.

It’s just ironic as hell that LeShinsplints was on the ice with Fil. Like the hate for this plug is exponentially greater than it was for guys like Tanner Glass and Freddy Claeson.
Because, let's be real, the only reason he's even playing at the level he is, or got he opportunities he did, is his dad.

There are probably 100 better hockey players out there that don't have his pedigree who never got so much as a 2nd look.

You shut him down for the season, maybe for good. He needs to think about being able to live a normal life. He's pretty well set up, trying to chase the NHL dream is not worth it being unable to function in day-to-day life.

So for those keeping score off the top of my head

Blackburn career ending injury
cherepanov dies tragically
Sauer career ending injury
Kloucek ending injury
Now Chytil hell of a player bright bright future a rare gem we found

I’m surprised Lundqvist and Kreider made it thru their issues

And then of course there are just the usual busts

Don’t tell me we aren’t cursed.

Jesus f***ing christ. I've never seen one player on this team prone to so many injuries. Chy has his whole life ahead of him and hockey is not it for him at this minute. He needs some years off to just heal.

that is really weird...I assume he's been skating and doing this stuff on his own for awhile and then this happens. Maybe he was trying to ramp up and his body d idn't respond well

Cherneski was a very solid player too.

This was my fear months ago. I really feel for Filip. Such a tough break for him. If I was in his family I would suggest he just focus on getting healthy (nothing else). Do not even think about hockey. I know a NHL career has been his dream but his health for the next 50-60 years has to be his priority imo.
