Croatia deserved a better result here. They played a great game and have nothing to be ashamed of. It was really fun watching them throughout the tournament

Congrats to France, they played well. No shame to Croatia, they simply ran out of gas. Now when does hockey start?

This was cool, didn't see it posted in this thread. At least this group of Croatian firefighters won't be missing anything anymore. Congrats France.

Much respect to people who do this job. My brother-in-law is a fireman.

But I laughed seeing the one guy stick behind to continue watching the game. He's surely one who stays behind, but I just imagine him having to go for the fire but he chooses to stay and watch the game instead.

Deschamps got shit for not bringing Rabiot and instead opting for more defensive replacements in Nzonzi and Tolisso. They were fantastic in their limited roles, especially Nzonzi coming in early for Kanté today.

Also never appreciated Giroud until this WC. Fantastic support player.

And Mbappe, what can we say. At 19 it’s his chance to be one of the greatest of this football generation.

Remember where this team was in South Africa '10? Six years later they lose to the Final at Euro '16 and eight years later, they win World Cup '18. I think they have successfully turned it around.

Losing in the Euro hurt big time, but it was necessary for the maturation process. If they had won, they could have become too arrogant.

The first World Cup I was old enough to appreciate what was happening on the field was USA '94. And since then, I've watched every World Cup. Russia '18 is, by far, the most amazing World Cup. Quality football, crazy matches full of dramatic finishes and just jaw dropping goal after another.

To think this team dominated while leaving off the likes of Lemar, Dembele and Rabiot, all fantastic players.
