The Finns have had more International success than Russia for some time.Next 4 nations should include Russia. One of Sweden / Finland should be relegated.

Don’t worry, we will play with Slovakia soon enough. Thankfully, your country has one of the best leaders in EuropeI propose a Russia vs. North Korea 3-game series. Even more in tune with the times and improving ties.![]()
The problem with comments like this is that you assume you are informed. The problem with comments like this is it's difficult to say how dumb they are without breaking rules.
Specifically, I will not comment.
More generally, international sports are intrinsically political.
You are making events to compete under the banner of political entities.
They have been funded as a way to create national pride or prove which system is better. Completely political.
Bans and boycotts don't usually apply to professional athletes in pro leagues because they are about the sport and not politics.
The point isnt about not having any problems. The point is to try and maintain (as much as possible) the purity of sport. No it shouldn't have and no, there would still be problems.
Sports and politics are intertwined on all levels whether you like it or not.
If you think there's any purity in professional sport you are sorely mistaken. If you want purity start watching semi-pro or beer leagues. The point is to try and maintain the purity of sport.
If you really beleive this then why do you bother to watch? If you think there's any purity in professional sport you are sorely mistaken. If you want purity start watching semi-pro or beer leagues.
Because it's entertainment. If you really beleive this then why do you bother to watch?
Rocky fought in Russia and by the end, everyone was chanting "ROCKY, ROCKY, ROCKY" even the Russian Politburo.
I expect the same here except it will be "TKACHUK, TKACHUK, TKACHUK".
It is indeed. Thats why I watch as well.Because it's entertainment.

That will only occur if a bloodied Tkachuk yells "Adrian" while stumbling to the penalty box after KO-ing Ovechkin in a monumental scrap for the ages.
I doubt it. Tkachuk is a popular Ukrainian name, ironically
It must be tough for you getting through life with that GIANT tinfoil hat on your head. The problem with comments like this is that you assume you are informed.
The reality is that the narratives we are being told are rarley the truth.
The public is generally misinformed about the reality of these situations...we are informed to level of our national propaganda. Strings are being pulled in the backgorund.
So the right thing to do is remove the political veil from sport. The players have nothing to do with the political propaganda and the political game being played in the background anyway.
The point isnt about not having any problems. The point is to try and maintain (as much as possible) the purity of sport.
It isn’t political to say that the level of hubris required to think that you are able to see through the misinformation but an entire ecosystem of people who study this stuff for a living is duped is something. The problem with comments like this is that you assume you are informed.
