Islands in the stream.
Connor clearly pissed and not interested in talking stats with Gene in that interview.

Well the team's gotta play better defence, including Connor, for McDavid to have a happier demeanor. Go out and shut the Bruins down in the 3rd. Oh and McDavid get a hatty for the GWG.
Why would there even be an interview with Connor at that time in a game? Thats expecting too much. Let Connor get to the room and with the team. Do they expect him to drive the Zamboni as well? he can't even beat Gretzky....;)

The difference in this game is depth scoring (2 of the 3 goals so far). Boston is loaded with it while EDM is having to rely on McDavid again. lol

You guys don't think McDavid is somewhat motivated by losing the Hart to Matthews last year? Absolutely he is...

Skinner has gifted the Bruins two goals. The goalpost was just a minute before as well. Beat him clean. I fear its going to get worse as expectations increase on Skinner because he's starting to get rattled at times. He's bad in sequences, something I'm noting.
Rookie brain on that last goal. Paralyzed with his decision making and chip shot up top where Daddy keeps the porno. Has to make a quick decision there. Of course the Oilers were buried in their own zone basically the last minute including a dman failing to tie up the Bruin in the kill zone.

Can't work so hard and give games away with brain f***ery in own zone play and goaltending that just can't back up the need to bail out a leaky team. Absolutely killer, deflating goal after working themselves back to evens in a low shot game. Self induced.

During Smith tenure we had him elevating in money time. Seems like we got nobody like that now.
Unpopular opinion: Stuart Skinner hasn't been very good this year. He's maybe stood on his head twice the whole season. Almost every other game he's let in terrible goals only to have decent stretches throughout the game. It doesn't matter who's in net between him and Campbell. It's 100% guaranteed for bad goals to be let in, sprinkled with a few great saves. There's a reason he's not .500. Yes the D in front of him has been bad, but it doesn't excuse the horrendous goals that go in multiple times every game

Sucks McDavid got robbed of it again. Just because Matthews hit 60 goals doesn't automatically mean he deserves the hart. The people who vote have no clue anymore about that trophy. lol

Skinner is a new father which as anyone who has kids knows how difficult the first months with a kid are.

The sleep deprivation and stress of being a new father are real.
So what should be do with him then. Send him down to the farm until September? This is pro sports. Lot of guys that play are new fathers. Terrible excuse.

He's got a team to carry on his back ... AGAIN.

Need a big period by Hyman, Nugent Hopkins and others.

You could have stated the bolded the last 15 years.
Sure. It's definitely possible that coaching was just never the problem. But at the same time, sometimes a new coach is what is needed to shake a team. I happens a lot. I don't think the team needs that though.

Agree to disagree. I think coaching in Edmonton is a very tough job and he's done a better job than anyone I've personally seen in a while around here (I'm 30 YO). The 7D was one example and his ability to improve 5 on 5 numbers/transition stats was also evident. I think he feels trapped with a shit defensive roster and has decided to employ a more aggressive offensive approach which has cost us/won us games. You can't be a top contender in this league with a bottom 15 top 4D..
Woodcroft is but one problem. He’s an average coach. This team deserves the best. Not average.
