Time for Wolf, Zary and Co. to burn Washington to the ground once again.

Lines from last game.

Hopefully Bahl returns tonight...

Also if we paired Solo and Bahl... would we call them Uniball?

After last game, I expect the Roondog love fest will be in full effect lmao that middle-six ain’t working though, and Huska is too stubborn to shake it up. Klapper needs to be full-time imho.

That middle six has been together for 1 game, after not playing for 2 weeks. Let's give it more than 12+ minutes for the Backlund line and 8+ minutes for the Frost line before deciding it isn't working

Or we can put the shooters (Coro and Rango) with Frosty, the two-way guys (Coleman and Farabee) with Zary, and bump Backs to the fourth line with Lombo and Klapper. That one game with “12 minutes for the Backlund line” and “8+ minutes for the Frost line” wasn’t exactly against one of the league’s best teams. How well do you expect they’d fare against the Caps? We don’t have weeks to spare, we have 26 games, less than 1/3rd of the season left.

This move Backlund to the 4th line is such a ridiculous f***ing take, it's nearly as awful as your Poirier obsession. Backlund is still a solid 3rd liner, he's not going to be moved to the 4th line. Full stop.

Also some of your other suggestions are terrible. You want to move Coronato off the top line with out best playmaker and best center... just because Frost is also a playmaker? That literally makes no sense. Even less so since the only guys left to play with Naz and Huby are 4th liners.

You're also ignoring the 2 weeks off, long layoffs throw things off.

Look at some of the results since the break...
  • Oilers were pummeled by Philly
  • Buffalo scored 8 goals on the Rangers
  • Panthers lost to the Kraken
  • Avs have lost to the Preds and Blues
  • The "good" Red Wings needed OT to be the Ducks
  • Canucks lost to Utah
  • The Jets needed OT to beat the Sharks, despite the Sharks playing B2Bs
I guess the Oilers, Panthers, Avs, Wings and Jets should just give up because if that's how they did in those games, they have no chance to beat other teams!

Looking at 1 game is too small of a sample size to take anything seriously from it, it's not a sign of trends. Earlier this year we were hammered by Utah, the next game we shutout NJ. We lost to Buffalo, next game we beat LA, we lost to the Lightning and Bruins on either side of beating the Panthers, we lost to Utah, Nashville and needed OT to beat Anaheim and then we turned around and beat the Kings... we lost 2 in a row to the Blues, then beat the Jets.

I hope Bahl is back as well but unfortunately based on that lineup it looks like Solo is the place holder who would be coming out

He’s not been a world beater or anything since coming up but I’d prefer him in over Bean. Think he’s done enough in the AHL this year to earn an extended look

You want a sample size? How about sixteen years of Flames hockey, in which they’ve made the playoffs five times, and the second round twice. What do you think the common denominator is? Backlund in the middle-six. He’s mid. It’s time to accept that reality, and move on from it.

Coro has played but a handful of games on the top line, so by your own logic, you don’t have any more evidence to suggest that it does work than it doesn’t. In fact, Pospy has seen 3x as much time on the top line than Coro has. And by that very same logic, Poirier deserves his day in court because we haven’t even had a single game to see whether he would be a good fit or not.

You’re obviously free to your own opinion and disagree with whatever you want, but you can’t deny that to feign some sort of higher “logic” whilst repeatedly contradicting yourself is laughable.

Bahl’s back. Looks like we’re rolling with Vladdy today, here’s hoping for a big game from him 💪🏼🔥

Coronato has also been playing with Naz and Huberdeau on the PP for a while now, he's been on the ice with them both for just shy of 110 minutes this season, plus more time with each of them without the other, so that is a much larger sample size than you are admitting. If Pospisil was still playing like he was earlier in teh season, I wouldn't have any issue with him being back on that line, but teh reality is he played himself off that line.

Poirier is f***ing garbage defensively, he's not even remotely passable in his own end, he's not getting called up unless the Flames blueline has at least 5 injuries... hell I wouldn't even be shocked if he wasn't qualified this summer; I don't expect that, but I wouldn't be shocked because frankly he's at best only marginally better now than he was in his rookie AHL season. I swear you are either one of his parents or his significant other, no one else could be so blind to reality regarding his play.

As I watch the replay of Jake Bean chasing Toffoli behind the net, leaving it wide open out front for him to dish to Celebrini on that first Sharks goal lmao and how many times have you watched him handle the puck like a goddamn land mine on his stick? This is the guy they’ve dressed for the MOST games (42) out of he, Miro, and Tyson Barely, the latter of whom was blown past on many occasions chugging back to his own end because he doesn’t have the legs to keep up in the NHL, and we still gave him a dozen games, for what? If you put Bean and Barely together you might have a Jeremie Poirier, and you’d certainly have no worse than a Dan Miromanov, who still got 36 games to determine whether the experiment is a success or failure. But it’s clear that your Poi hate runs pretty deep, and I’m apparently Jeremie’s daddy, so highly unlikely we’ll ever agree on this one. I’m just saying it’s impossible to know what we have for sure in this highly-talented 22-year old dman until we’ve given him the same amount of rope we’ve given to others. But by all means, do go off lol

I don't hate Poirier at all, I actually like him and would love for him to succeed. But like him or not, he's complete and utter shit defensively. Poirier is as bad in the AHL defensively as any of those guys are in the NHL, and you want to move him up to a higher level where players are more skilled and things happen faster? Brilliant dude, bloody brilliant.

I just think if he was as “utter shit” as you claim, there would be something to not only substantiate it, but to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that it couldn’t be improved upon. Dmen on average don’t hit their peak until mid to late 20’s so to write Poi off at 22 is crazy work to me. I’d have rather given him the dozen games we gave to Barely, if I’m being honest.

Edit: I actually had an AHLtv subscription last season, which so happened to be the season Poi was injured for most of, so I got cheated out of being able to see very much of him, and I can count the number of Wranglers games I’ve seen this season on one hand.

I haven't written him off, I'm just saying he isn't currently remotely ready

I think Andrew is going to bake full loaves inside Vladdy's kitchen. If tonight isn't the night that @joescores puts the lotion in the basket I don't know what is.

Vladdy destined for a 7+ga night? Maybe he keeps us in it and we only lose 5-2. Haha.
