Holl's problem is consistency. If his worst game was 70% of his best game, he'd be a keeper. Unfortunately, his worst game is 20% of his best game.

I really don’t understand why he doesn’t just full commit to being a Hal Gill clone instead of pretending he’s an all-around #2. He’d make more money in UFA as a Chiarot than whatever he’s trying to be now.

His game would improve leaps and bounds if you took a rope, tied it to our end boards, and made it just long enough to allow him to go 3 feet past the opponents blue line.

Nice to see Jarnkrok on the 3rd line. Really hoping we can push him down (and Kampf/Engvall to the 4th).

If Timmins can play better than Holl and Brodie/Gio/Liljegren/Rielly can fill in on the PK (his biggest strength), then we have a fair bit of flexibility at the deadline if Kerfoot/Holl go the other way for cap reasons.

Really hope we target a 3C and a star winger, Domi/Meier is ideal for me (hoping we don't have to part with Knies).

Meier - Tavares - Marner
Bunting - Matthews - Nylander
Knies/Holmberg - Domi - Jarnkrok
Engvall - Kampf - Anderson

Rielly - Brodie
Sandin - Liljegren
Gio - Timmins

Pretty sure this works without any retention on anyone.

I just realized this is a back-to-back for chicago

We definitely should win this

I agree about doing everything possible to get Meier. He's exactly what we need in the top 6. I hope it's without giving up Knies though because Meier might end up being a rental if we can't sign him. Is it worth it giving us a stronger lineup for this playoff run. Glad I'm not making that decision.

I have a problem with having Sandin and Timmins in the playoff lineup. They're going to be eaten alive by hard forechecking teams like the Bruins and Tampa.

I think those two are more than capable of moving the puck quickly up the ice, not sure they will get eaten alive on the forecheck. Timmins especially is good at the first pass and moving the puck up the ice.

I think one of Holl's biggest issues is he holds onto the puck too long when he is being forechecked.

I got tickets to the game but iffy about going

Is Matthews confirmed to be back?

Have you watched much Hawks this year?

Your ECHL team playing on back-to-back would probably have a reasonable shot to win vs Hawks

Mrazek has been an effective tank commander though truly probably the worst netminder I can remember playing for Hawks since Robbie Tallas

I came in here to see if you guys think the healthy scratch for Holl is indication he is in coach's doghouse and potentially on way out? Given Holl is former Hawk pick I tend to see how he is doing from time to time

Need a strong performance tonight. Chicago on a 2nd of a back to back after getting spanked by the Habs. Show Patty Kane why he should come here.

Leafs are now behind Lightning in the standings. We don't even have home ice. Not looking good. Trades are necessary now.

Playing a bottom feeder who is on the 2nd half of back to backs at home. So how are they going to screw this thing up?

Which is exactly why I’m skeptical of our game. Have you seen the leafs against bottom-feeders? We tend to play down to them

As for mrazek, yea we’ve had first hand experience of him. He’s brutal

Generally watching a game against a bottom feeding team playing for Connor Bedard is not one would circle on the calendar.

However I've been a Jonathan Toews fan so always like to watch him play, particularly against the Leafs.

He is easily in my top 5 favourite non Maple Leafs around the league.

He's taking massive amounts of faceoffs again this season. Everytime he plays I mean. Still one of the best percentages.

Glad the leafs have fw skill too now again. All those old days when pat coached... we had the best circle in the world. Sundin neauwendyk, reichel, Wilm, Peca, Perreault etc etc was the bomb.
