One of the most underrated Xmas movie of all time.. very good 90’s action/thriller flick with some great comic relief mixed in.. lots of twists and turns

Ben Affleck, Gary Sinise, Charlize Theron, Danny Trejo, and a few cameos I won’t spoil

(But to please the court, it’s close between Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, and Elf)

I love old nostalgia movies like White Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life too

Surprised no one said The Santa Clause w/ Tim Allen yet. I don't really care for Christmas movies, but this one is my favorite by far. Great one-liners and a pretty unique plot, plus the step-dad Neil had some incredible sweaters.

I no longer have a favorite Christmas movie I like - that I feel I need to watch each year - if that makes sense.

However, the most fun I had watching a Christmas movie was 8 Bit Christmas because I watched it with daughter and it played out very similar to my own Christmas one year.

As Jake was telling his 8 Bit Christmas Story to his daughter, I was telling my own at the same time to my daughter.

My father told me there was no way I was getting that “Intendo” for Christmas that year - or any year for that matter!

But I had… a plan… a foolproof plan!

My grade school had a raffle for a Nintendo that Christmas and my friends and I hustled to make money to “corner the market” and buy up all he raffle tickets so only we would win.

We scrounged up $100 for 100 tickets - so we had it in the bag!

When a dirty little sixth grader won the raffle, we were devastated - one of my more unscrupulous buddies suggested we make the kid buy “brick fu” insurance by giving us his shiny new Nintendo - but cooler heads prevailed.

Then Christmas morning arrived but it was a bust - scored an Entertech Water Hawk - so it wasn’t all bad!

We had breakfast - then my dad called my bro and I into the living room.

We knew something was up when he had his trusty camcorder at the ready - then by the chair over by the fireplace we laid eyes on it…

We could make out the shape of a Nintendo box through the Glad garbage bag my father had so lovingly stuffed it in.

We rushed over and tore open the garbage bag to reveal…

A Nintendo! With Mike Tyson’s Punchout!

The old man came through just like Ralphie’s dad and gave us the most memorable Christmas ever!

PS - He already built us a clubhouse three years earlier.

Win win!
