Line Combos: Favorite Bruins line of the last 20 years

Since it's the end of the year I thought it would be fun to look back at some of the better line combos the Bruins have had in recent history. I didn't start watching hockey full time until 2008 so I only have from then on to go by.

For me it was Lucic-Savard-Kessel. They had the right mix of speed, skill, toughness so they could beat you in a lot of ways. Sometimes I wonder what the team would be like if Kessel stayed and Savard never got hurt; would Krejci still be on the team? Would they have won a cup? Just think of how good they would have been if they stuck together for a few years, with Lucic turning into a better player.

So many honorable mentions.... Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder, Marchand-Campbell-Thornton, Paille-Campbell-Thornton, Marchand-Bergeron-Recchi, Lucic-Krejci-Horton

Lucic - Savard - Horton ... too bad they only played a handful of games together.

Was always hoping we get to see Lucic - Savard - Seguin, but ... yeah.

Marchand - Bergeron - Seguin was just dynamite in November / December 2011.

Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin for sure. I obviously liked Recchi there as well, but I don't know if Marchand and Bergeron fully hit their stride and fully built up their chemistry until that 2011 season. Smith might be an even better fit with those two, so I'm hoping those three overtake that line.

Knuble-Thornton-Murray was dominant as well. Three massive players that were unbelievably difficult to contain in the pre-lockout era.

Marchand - Bergeron - Recchi in the finals was golden.

I think Samsonov and Nylander were together for a bit and looked really good.

Marchand Campbell Thornton when they were together.

Wheeler Krejci Ryder when they were on.

But Lucic Krejci Horton was the best.

I think my favorite was Wheeler Krejci Ryder because that was when I started believing the Bruins could be a great team again.

If everything went right Lucic - Savard - Kessel would have been something.

God damn... Arguably the best power forward, a top-5 playmaker, and a top-5 sniper all on one line. We saw flashes of that in Lucic-Krejci-Kessel, but man.

I'm gonna have to go with Lucic-Krejci-Horton. Drove me nuts in the regular season, but when together, they just absolutely destroyed anything in their way in the playoffs, and were a massive reason why we won the Cup. Marchand-Bergeron-Recchi is close too.

Too underwhelmed by Horton and Iginla to consider them.

I liked Lucic Krejci Satan for a couple days too (I know his 2OT goal was on the PP, but that line was still pretty good that series).

So basically, Lucic Krejci and anyone makes for a pretty good line.

Even though the team sucked that line was usually a joy to watch. Boyes was dynamite his rookie season, 26-43-69.

I was going to mention them as well. Wouldn't say they're #1 but that was line was the best part of that ****** 05/06 season. Sturm and Bergeron were at their peak offensively and Boyes was great as a rookie.

I'm going to go back and say the GAS (more than 10 years ago??) line as well although the 700lb line was pretty lethal as well.

Of course the playoff Lucic-Krejci-Horton combo was exciting as hell!
