Line Combos: Favorite Bruins line of the last 20 years

Lucic-Savard-Kessel
Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin
Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder for one great November a little while ago
Boyes-Bergeron-Sturm
Anything with Stan Chistov or Petr Tenkrat

Of course Iggy is not centering that line... but the KIL line has not been tinkered with once so far this year, so as time goes on the positions are already implied since everyone knows the line i am referring to when i put "KIL" at the top of the list.

Sorry for the long-winded explanation, but my guess is that is normally (this is conjecture) the reason behind anybody arranging it with the K-for-Krejci in the middle. Because DK centers the line.

I've seen some people put LIK too, maybe because of the coincidence that it sounds out as "like". I dunno, but i'll stop now in any case :D

No problem, just being honest.

That is why i am not crazy about just rearranging the 1st letter of last names to come up with line name. i wish we could be more creative. nothing creative about the GAS line.

Besides, one can also argue that LIK sounds like the LIcK line? lol.

i just think the KIL line should stick because that line really can KIL(L) you in so many different ways.

But i do get your point with placing the letters in the proper position.
 
Changed the thread title because I'd like to hear about some of the older lines, specifically ones with Jason Allison or Adam Oates. I never got to watch either player but they're both interesting to me because I love high end playmaking centers.

Any line with Tenkrat on it, pure magic...

BTW, he is only like 36, cant be any worse the Caron or the other dead weight. Can you image a third line

But, I do lean towards the line up that won the Cup. Hard to choose between our top two lines due to the way this team is built, and what they have accomplished. They're both great lines, and both came up huge when we needed them to.

I can say my favorite 3rd line was easily Peverley-Kelly-Ryder.

With some luck this year you just might be saying Soderberg-Spooner-Eriksson/Smith was at least as good as Peverley-Kelly-Rider... but this remains to be seen ;)

Flip those for my #1 and #2 favorites. Merlot was the best fourth line ever though Nordstrom/Kuraly/Wagner comes close. Axe/Tool Man/DiMaio was the best third line ever. :)

More like four score and twenty years ago, after Chief retired and Gregg Sheppard dealt, Cherry united Jean Ratelle with Don Marcotte and Bobby Schmautz. Jean Ratelle, the Artful Dodger with his long stride and straight bladed stick.He was a master craftsman of his trade, and could place a backhand saucer pass tape to tape like no one else this side of Gretzky. Grapes always said Donnie Marcotte was the perfect hockey player. The left wing version of Bergy, when he dropped his shoulder, he wasn't going to miss and boards would rattle and shake. He was every bit as good as Gainey, minus the Cups. And Schmautzie, totally fearless and a little bit crazy, he'd shoot from all angles and having em' ducking in the second balcony. He would fight you or carve you like a Jack O' Lantern with the lumber whichever you preferred. All twenty plus goal scorers, penalty killers, and two way players. Always went head to head against the iron of the league. A shame a Cup was never won with those teams, they were so close.

1. Lucic-Krejci-Iginla/Horton- They were the best lines I can remember watching. The way they could put up points, bully other teams, and physically grind teams down was amazing!
2. Marshy-Bergy-Pasta- This line has everything except the Lucic/Horton/Iginla toughness factor but they are sure pretty to watch
3. Knuble-Thornton-Murray- I was obsessed with this line, the puck possession, the elite passing of Joe and the finishing of Murray/Knubs was awesome.

Honorable mention:
Lucic-Savard-Kessel this line perhaps has everything, even though they weren't together long. Elite passer, elite goal scorer, absolute beast in terms of hitting and fighting, speed, and agitator.

Speaking of those times...Jozef Stumpel is still active, playing in 3rd Slovakian league, 47 years old.

Going well beyond 20 years, but back in the mid 80's, the Simmer - Linseman - Crowder line was tons of fun to watch and extremely productive. Could very well be the most underrated B's line of all time.

Oates was phenomenal

The short lived

Oates-Tocchet -?

Was something

Neely & Tocchet were on the same line about as long as Orr and Park together but looking at Cam and Tocchet both wearing spoked B at same time sent me to my doctors for sedatives

I pulled over and cried when they reacquired him

I was in the BJs parking lot when I heard the deal and was so pissed

Had I lived near Fenien I’d have called him up and headed out to some bar to drink away our sorrows

Nice guy but soft as crap
