FAQ: Going to Anaheim and Honda Center

Greetings Ducks Fans

In case the Coyotes relocate out of Arizona Im open to the idea of a ticket package with another team and the Ducks are high on my list.
Any infomation would be great.

I currently spend between $1000-$1500 a season which includes $15 per game full season tickets in the upper level and I do some upgrades during the season.

Im open to the idea of a full of half season package but only if others are willing to split one with me considering that I live 4 and 1/2 hours driving time from Anaheim. Open to the idea of 4-10 game packs as well.

Are these packages flexable? What are the benefits? Can you upgrade at anytime? Prices?

What about just buying tickets game by game...single game tickets. You live pretty far away and how are you going to be able to make Weekday games, miss work/school every time?

It's also fun to do it that way (single game) because you can sit in different places and a lot of times you can get tickets for under face value.

1. Ticket packages usually have playoff priority and hey if someone if willing to pay, why not?
2. I have vacation and personal days I can use plus I get my normal 2 days off as well.

Im thinking of 1-2 games per month or 2-3 every 2 months. Also, I go to school online so I can travel anywhere in the world to take classes.

Its possible! But it might not work considering that any owner of a team here is also responsible for the costs not related to hockey at Jobing.com Arena. The current lease Matt Hulsizer has with Glendale should the bonds sell calls for the City of Glendale to cover $97 million of the arenas operating costs over the next 5 seasons. Long story short, it could cost a new owner of a AHL or ECHL team here more than it would with the Coyotes.

Plus the RoadRunners were never as big as the Coyotes here and they died 2 times.

Do they having signings after games?

Anyone seen them practice? does it cost money to watch them?

Do they charge for autographs?


Right now i have been buying my signed stuff on ebay and half the time the coa(certificate of authenticity) is from the ebay store owner and not a respected company. Although i seen postitive feedback from members that sent there gear they bought to a respectable company and earned a coa.

This year the Ducks had set up a website for people looking to split season tickets. It listed how many seats were available, and how many games you wanted to buy. I'll try and find the link.

If you go to a practice at Anaheim Ice, they usually sign autographs and take pictures after practice. Many players will stop for a moment and sign, they're pretty nice guys.

If you go to a game, it is much harder to get autographs.

You best bet to get autographs at the Honda Center is to wait for the guys to go to/come out of morning practice. They usually park and walk in on the South side of the arena and you catch a few of them outside and get autographs and pics with them if they are willing to stop. They never charge for autographs that I know of. The only time you can watch them practice is when they are at Anaheim Ice, the Honda Center doesn't let you in for practices.

Summer Hockey League/LA Traffic

I'm moving out to LA for an internship this summer and a friend of mine asked me to join his summer league team that plays at Anaheim Ice (I guess the Ducks practice there). The problem is that I will be staying in Toluca Lake. Google Maps says that without traffic, it would take me 46 minutes to get from my apartment to the rink. With traffic, however, it says 2 hours and 20 minutes! Being unfamiliar with the traffic patterns and rush hour times around LA, I thought I would ask you guys what you thought as to how long it would realistically take to get from my place in Toluca Lake to Anaheim Ice. From what I understand, our games would probably be on weekend evenings, but there might be some weeknight games as well. I'd really like to play, but I don't want to pay the $333 sign-up fee and later find out that the travel is too much for me. Btw, I work from 10am-7pm on weekdays, but don't work weekends. Thanks for your help. I apologize if this is an inappropriate forum for this question.

9am - 8pm I'd say it would take about an hour and a half to get down to anaheim on the 5 freeway. I'd also recommend avoiding LA altogether and taking 134/210 east to the 57 south and going around LA completely its only a couple miles longer and shorter time in traffic.

Idea: buy them directly when they go on sale since most dates will not sell out. I would check back here about a week before the individuals go on sale (maybe a presale password will be available).

Ebay will be a good source as well as the Ducks Ticket Exchange through Ticketmaster (sold by Season Seat Holders).

Anyway, on task. Are there any cheap hotel/motels anyone recommends? The cheaper the better, also, would it be easy to use public transport to get from Phoenix to Anaheim/LA and then LA to Anaheim? Lastly, do games sellout? Obviously being college students we want to get tickets as cheaply as humanly possible. I'll be checking this site, ebay, stubhub and ticketexchange but I'm wondering if there are any other Duck specific tips you guys have.

You won't have any problem getting tickets, what you should do is go on the Anaheim ducks ticket exchange before you leave on the trip, you can find tickets for dirt cheap. Public transportation from Phoenix? Wow I have no idea, your best bet would be to look up if AMTRAK has routes that connect.

We are going to commit to the trip over our winter break in January. If we can get 4 commitments we will buy the tickets and book hotel rooms well in advance. Any recommendations for hotels? We'd be heading back home, well to Dallas first, after this game so even if it's outside of the city a little bit it wouldn't really matter.

There's a ton of hotels in the Anaheim Resort area so going to orbitz or hotels.com is a smart choice. make sure you search for coupon codes. I've stayed at the Anabella and Holiday Inn in Anaheim before and they are both nice cheap hotels. If you want cheaper, then stay at the Ramada or Extended Stay. Going to stubhub or ticketexchange is fine for tickets but there is really no need since we never sell out. I suggest also looking at the Ducks family 4 packs the team offers on their website.

As far as tickets are concerned, don't be worried, the game probably won't sell out. But like someone mentioned, you should check to see if there are any offers from the team for that game. Sometimes they offer packages that start at like $60 that include 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 sodas. As far as getting from Phoenix to Anaheim, I had a buddy that rode the train and said that it wasn't a long/bad trip at all, and there is a stop at Angels stadium right across the street from the Honda Center. That same train can take you up to LA also. As for hotels, your best bet is probably priceline to try to get one of the hotels around Honda Center or down the road a little ways near Disneyland. There is also an Embassy Suites right off the 91 freeway that is only a couple miles east from the arena. You might want to look into that if you're cheap and willing to sleep two to a bed just because that way you can get a king size bed for two of you and the pull-out sofa for the other two and it wouldn't be that expensive cause you'd only need one room. That place also has a free all you can eat breakfast buffet in the morning for guests. Hope this helps.

Amtrak train. The station in Anaheim let's you out on the north side of angel's stadium which is across the street from Honda center. It's pretty cheap and quick too.
