Yup, I was debating Frankie and Smith, figured my #2RW should take precedent over my backup goalie... but there were still some decent options outside of Smith, kind of slim pickings after Francouz (at least under a mil).

Yeah, there was a run on backups. Had to grab mine too. There's still at least one decent backup on a cheap deal left.

I’m curious how different the results would’ve been with other fan bases. In particular, I’m thinking of Habs fans and Price. He’s gonna go undrafted in our draft, but I could easily see him going in like the 2nd round in a draft full of Habs fans.

It’s pretty hard to justify a $10mil goalie when you can get 7-8 guys are are almost or just as good as him for half the price(pun intended). He’s still good but a 10mil cap hit is huge regardless of the position, why waste it on a goalie.

With the draft winding down, I gotta give a mad props and thanks to @The Abusement Park for all his work putting this together. This has been a blast and an excellent distraction during this sports nuclear winter.

Im hoping for at least 1 more of these before hockey (hopefully) starts back up again, b/c I frankly have no idea how else I’ll get my sports fix.

Even with only 12 teams and the ability to cherry pick the best players/contracts in the league, you can easily see how much a massively bloated goalie contract can screw a team’s whole cap situation (or any awful/bloated contract for that matter).

I wanted someone more proven, but he was the best of the remaining cheap contracts. Didn't expect a run for back-up goalies, I was expecting one of Saros/Francouz to be there when my pick came around.

Yeah I just don't think he's THAT much better than all the other top goalies(if at all) to justify taking him. I mean all the skaters making 10+ will make a much bigger impact even if a couple are overpaid. And if they are overpaid it's not by much at all.

I think I will make a poll and then everyone can vote for their 2 favorite teams with no votes for yourself. Something along those lines.
