Fans will be urged to cheer not whistle

Why do Canadian TV want to create a "northamerican hockey feeling?" How ignorant isn't that? It ISN'T North America, it's Europe.

I hope that they realize by making this request, fans will just whistle even more. :D Who cares what sounds fans do as long as they do make sounds? Is it like someone in Canada/USA who is watching says "Oh my god! They are whistling! They are making so much noise! I can't stand this!"

If they want a general northamerican hockey feeling, the crowd should applaud some sporadically once and then, drink beer, burp and be silent.

By the way, as have been said, the music in the arena has been awesome. Also, the "Deeeeoooo!" followed by the chicken sound(?) "Bwo-oh-oh!" is cracking me up.

Yeah if they want the authentic feel of an NHL hockey game, they will need to bring in a bunch of business people in suits to fill up the first 8 rows of the game, and instruct them to not pay attention to what's actually going on.

Such requests are ridiculous. People can't make the sounds they want anymore, at a bloody hockey game? Why don't we start farting at games, how about that. I hope people whistle even more. Freaking CBC don't like it? Tough. I hate Cole and Neale and I have to live with them.

I don't like it because it's as boring as hell, there's 3455 people on the field, I have no idea who does what out there, have no idea how to spot an offside and there's like 0.9691 goals scored per game with the possibility of scoreless ties. I can't stand the thought of sitting through a 90 minute game and not even seeing one single goal scored.

I'd have more fun watching paint dry.

It also has a flow and a grace that is unrivalled in the sports world.

Do they hand out free phones to those that havent bought them to so they dont feel left out when everyone else is using them?

What's funny is that if an American says something like this about hockey, they get called ignorant, and a host of other words that I won't print here.
Are you calling me ignorant? I don't give a sh*t if Americans ike hockey or not, I wouldn't dump all over someone for having different tastes. Someone basically asked how anyone could not like soccer, as if to say everyone should watch it and I voiced my opinion. It bores the hell outta me, so does football, and basketball, and baseball.

I think I'd put soccer above football, but that's not really saying much cuz I wouldn't watch either sport unless there were absolutely nothing else on.

More than hockey? Do you ever see end-to-end action in soccer? How is running more graceful than skating?

Anyway, I don't really care, I've said everything that I've wanted to say on this subject. Soccer is not suited to my tastes and nobody's gonna convince me otherwise.

I am ****ing pumped for the World Cup. Hockey is my sport, but I love the World Cup far more than the Olympics.

The World Cup is easily the greatest international competition in the world. Bar none.

If only Canada could have a good team...
