Keeping a high inventory of anything isnt a good business strategy. Its dead money.
The only hockey merch I own is a Capitals beanie and a Blackhawks patch. With prices like this I think I'm set, lol.Gotta admit a laughed loudly when I followed the link to see the price. Beyond insane lol.
But what about the poor owners?Yeah, I am not really going to buy much merch.
The players are paid well enough.
20 or so years ago I bought several dozen CCM NHL shirts, many of them with player names and numbers on the back. Got them on clearance for $3-5 each. I've worn the crap out of them over that time. Two of them have some holes in them, all the others are still in good shape. Looking at the fabric and stitching compared to shirts I've bought in recent years, there's no comparison. I received a Fanatics shirt a few years ago as a gift. Was sized oddly and the letters peeled after a couple washes. Was embarrassed to even take it to Goodwill.Stop feeding your consumerist addiction and you'll stop feeding these ripoff artists.
I still have shirts and jerseys from 15-20 years ago that I've kept in good condition and continue to wear. Koho and CCM branded merch that was very good quality. The stuff I bought from Reebok just was not anywhere near as good and I'm not even going to roll the dice on this trash from Fanatics.
Athletic T-shirts for 82 bucks? The player t-shirt prices here in Canada are beyond Pejorative Slured….
Here’s a few

Shit, I remember when the much much much better quality Reebok player name and number tshirts were like $25 Canadian….maximum.
f***ing lirl at all the idiots buying this toilet paper quality Fanatics horseshit.
I mean in fairness, if there’s any fan base that’s the right demographic to target for spending $95 on a t-shirt, it’s the fan base with a team whose home is the middle of Manhattan.Damn $95 US for a Ranger T shirt, bonkers.
You are free to not buy stuff you think is bad value and that you don't need.Prices of things everywhere worldwide are out of control.
And then their insurance is crazy.its 9 bucks for a pound of butter (non-sale price) 6 bucks for a dozen of eggs 3-5 bucks for a loaf of bread in Canada .
but minimum wage is 17 ish so I guess we can all afford this.
some of the car payments that the younger folks I work with have blow my mind . 700$ a month to lease a nissan rogue , what !

Sure, if you have the will power to stop yourself from buying that pack of smokes............The good thing is that no one has to buy any of this merchandise.
