Because all the great things about New Vegas are things Bethesda has a very hard time with: good plots, good quests, good gameplay mechanics, good characters etc....

Bethesda makes crap games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion while Obsidian make gems like New Vegas and Knights of the Old Republic 2

Okay first of all, New Vegas is my all time favourite game, but that doesn't mean Oblivion and Fallout 3 are bad.

Bethesda is capable of making likeable characters, good stories and interesting quests. Their Elder Scrolls games are a testament to having good quests and plots, maybe not main quest plots but many of their guild questlines and some side quests are well written. And the companions in Fallout 4 for the most part are likeable, and there are a few likeable NPC's scattered across the world.

Hell their gameplay mechanics in FO4 are a dramatic improvement over what they've had before. The gunplay is fantastic.

I'm itching for Obsidian to get their hands on the engine and to make another Fallout, but that doesn't mean Bethesda is terrible. They're responsible for some of my (and I assume many others) fondest gaming memories.

You are correct: just because you consider New Vegas one of the best RPGs of the last decade doesn't mean Fallout 3 and Oblivion suck.

They suck because they are poorly written games with awful design.

Do note that this does not preclude you from having some very fond memories of those games: if you enjoyed them then good for you.

However, if you thought New Vegas was that good, I dare you to go back to them and tell me they are good games.

Don't you understand that this very same thing applies to you? if you hated them good for you. It really doesn't change anything.

Still at my impasse with the Brotherhood and Institute. I feel like this is a decision I shouldn't have to make to progress the game.

They aren't just good games, they are great games.

New Vegas was without a doubt better written and a more enjoyable experience as a result, I wouldn't contest that though.

Everyone holds NV like its the greatest game ever. Did everybody forget the game was almost completely unplayable for a long time? Some horrible game breaking glitches in that, that's how I remember it.

So I found an early save file (6 hours played) that had my favourite gun (explosive double barrel) and decided to restart from there as opposed to a completely new file.

Great success

I do not recall that when I played it way back when. I know there were some glitches that were pretty awful but stillm

20 hours into my first playthrough.

Paladin Danse's actor is 100% doing a George Clooney impersonation. I had to pause the game and double check to see if Clooney was in the game.

$10 for custom robot companions. Kill robots to collect pieces for them.

$5 for Fallout 4: Pokemon Edition. You get cages to catch live creatures. Tame them or have them battle.

$25 for new Nick Valentine mission that unlocks an island off of Maine. "Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons."

Season Pass is increasing to $50 from $30 on March 1st.

Copy pasta

Robots, monsters, and mysteries are all coming to Fallout 4 as DLC—and the added content looks pretty sweet.

First, we’ve got “Automatron,” which will retail for 9.99 and will have a launch window of March 2016. Per the Bethesda blog:

The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!

There’s also the $4.99 “Wasteland Workshop,” which sounds a little like Fallout 4's version of Pokemon. It will drop sometime in April 2016:

With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixi tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!

And finally, there’s the $24.99 “Far Harbor,” which gives you a new case to tackle with none other than Nick Valentine. Bethesda aims to release it in May 2016:

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

It seems like price correlates with how beefy the DLC pack will be—the most expensive piece is the one that seems more story-oriented, which is appropriate.

According to Bethesda, these are just a few of the many DLC packs coming to Fallout 4 in 2016. In accordance, they’re changing the price of the season pass:

Given the expanded DLC plan, the price of the season pass will increase from the current $29.99 to $49.99 USD (£24.99 to £39.99 GBP; $49.95 to $79.95 AUD) on March 1, 2016. However, if you already purchased the season pass for $29.99, nothing changes - you still get everything at no additional cost— the full $60 offering of add-on content for the original price of $29.99. In addition, if you didn’t buy the season pass yet, there is still time: anyone who buys the Season Pass for $29.99 before March 1st will get all $60 worth of content. This is our way of saying thanks to all our loyal fans who have believed in us and supported us over the years.

These add-ons will even have closed beta tests, which you can sign up for here. Beyond that, Bethesda says it will keep updating the game with improvements and optimizations, and even gameplay additions. As you might have heard, an overhaul to Survival Mode is coming, and there are still plans to bring the Creation Kit to life for modders as well. Looks like 2016 is going to be a busy year for Fallout 4.

Only one that looks interesting is Far Harbor. Don't care about what I assume will be Pokemon and Lego Robots.

I have it on the Xbox One, but I'm probably going to buy it for the PC eventually as it's better on that. Not going to buy the Season Pass, I'll buy Far Harbor if I really want to but $25 is... wow.

I never really liked shotguns until I found the explosive double barrel. Nothing like an aimed shot to the head with an explosive weapon.
