The Hawks should just sign a bunch of guys to 150% market value contracts for 1 yr then flip em at the TDL 50% retained for 1sts.

A top German talent will also play in the DEL in the coming season (
@DELoffiziell ): Dominik Bokk will play for newly promoted Löwen Frankfurt (
@loewenfrankfurt ) in the coming season!

Does this mean he won't be part of any deals?

He's signed to us for 22-23 and can be traded like any other SPC. This German thing is on a loan. If there's a taker, no reason to not be a part of a deal.

i doubt FA wise there anything cooking whats left that we realistically could be in on. I think trades are our only route to adding a top 6 F

And we're at the point where that is a must. Even if we bring back Nino we are looking at....

Svech - Aho - Turbo
Jarvis - KK - Necas*
Nino - Staal - Fast
Martinook - Drury - _______

I like KK but I am not ready to put him at 2C full time. Outside of playing a completely unproven Necas there, we have no other options. And on top of that, we still need Necas to re-sign, which isn't exactly a sure thing, and on top of that, you can't ignore that he genuinely sucked the 2nd half of last year to the point where he was a net negative on the ice.

That's not a Cup winning lineup. That's probably not even a 'get out of the first round' lineup. Combined with some of the moves that teams like NYR are making, we're further away from what we want than we were at the start of the day, even if the defense might be a little more secured.

Other than Marchment, I really don't think any of the UFAs being signed were legit targets for us at this point. It's how the team operates. Let the high dollar (and in many cases overpayment) UFAs go the first part of free agency, then look for value in free agency, or as teams now need to make moves for cap reasons.
