Poking around trying to find some solid info as to who actually runs the Hurricanes PP and there isn't that much out there about defined roles for assistants. The only thing I could find was from a Canes Country article that said Rod ran the PP.
This April - 2022 article from NBC sports has some quotes from Rod about how abysmal the PP had become at that point in the season. Reiterates what
@raynman said above about Rod letting guys play through it.
The Hurricanes have managed one goal with the man advantage in the month of April.

I really feel like teams just starting putting a ton of pressure on TDA or whoever was running the point and the PP pretty much went to shit as a result. Maybe I'm misremembering but I feel like there were a ton of passes picked off from down low back out to the point late into the season and throughout the playoffs. I don't know if it was a lack of confidence or what but it seemed like as soon as a point shot got through the forwards were looking to kick it back out asap, a little hot potato action going on. If felt like they weren't doing a great job of cycling down low and relied too much on the point to generate scoring chances. Which would make it a lot easier for the other team to defend?
