Now has 10 points in his last 10 games. Looks like he’s getting more and more comfortable.

7 points in his last 5, 10 in his last 10. But what sticks out a bit is his inconsistency. He has 7 multi-point games and 12 zero-point games. His longest point streak was 3 games, just like his longest pointless streak. While that’s normal for many players, I think as a player who’s hoping to become an NHL draft pick, he has to step it up a notch in the second half and add some consistency. The skill and talent are clearly there.

With an assist in a 1-2 SO loss vs. Everett last night, he’s taken over second place in team scoring behind only Chase Bertholet, and he’s still consistently playing on a line with Cade Hayes and Carter Streek. The Chiefs scored just 5 goals in the last 6 games but De Luca put up 3 points in those games. He’s become one of the most consistent players on the team.

Tommaso has yet to turn out for any Italian National Teams... something up there?
From what I understand it's pretty much confirmed he wants to play for Switzerland and has applied for Swiss citizenship. However, since he probably doesn't have any Swiss relatives he, unlike for example Brennan Othmann, doesn't qualify for the facilitated naturalisation process. Therefore, this can take months if not years. I can only speculate but since I haven't read or heard anything else and he's not playing for Italy he's probably still waiting for his Swiss passport.

I hope he gets to play the WJC20. That Swiss team is a good one and deep one but since Biasca won't be around anymore it does lack another x-factor upfront. Right now, Jonas Taibel is probably the only skilled forward who could carry a team at this level.

However, depending on where (which county and which city/town/village) he applied for his citizenship it could be very complicated.

It’s finally confirmed: Tommaso is on Switzerland’s roster for the upcoming U20 5-nations tournament (and he should be one of their top players).

Oh, thx for the info. I missed that one. Most of the stronger eligible players won't play this tournament. No Bichsel, Muller or Taibel for example so I guess De Luca is the star of that roster.

Italy needs him more
Well. The Swiss 04 group is gonna need De Luca at the upcoming WJC20. Badly. It's a deep team but it won't be able to rely on their goalies so they'll have to score goals. However, without De Luca, Jonas Taibel would be the team's only x-factor upfront. Many solid forwards but very little elite skill on that team, especially among the forwards.

As Italian I do not blame him for representing Switzerland, it is his own decision and everybody has to accept that. I blame the Italian federation for lack of a long-term project different than desperately seeking Canadian players with an Italian passport.
