And it's a very weak forward group
I wouldn't say it's weak. A lot of talent although it may skew young. Again, the reality is Pastujov skates in mud. USA Hockey for quite sometime now has favored taking good/great skaters. That's part of the team identity. This ends up getting framed a NCAA vs. CHL issue but dig deeper.

Is Sasha putting himself back on the radar as a legit prospect?

Of guys who have played a considerable amount of AHL games this season, the only 21 & under player in the entire league with a higher scoring rate than Pastujov is Nazar.

Of course, the issue with Pastujov has never been scoring - but this kind of age/production in the AHL is getting to be hard to ignore.

He should be, but he still needs to put on strength and continue with the skating improvements.

I have hope that he will be a third line PP specialist; the way he persevered this season after starting in the ECHL is very impressive.

With his skillset I always envisioned/hoped he could be a Perron type wing. He's never going to be an above average skater but I think in a couple seasons he has longterm top 6 potential. Just needs to continue to add weight and grit to his game so he can utilize the middle of the ice more. He's already equipped to produce on an NHL PP.
