lol he hasn’t even been drafted yet dude decide that 5-10 years after he’s been draftedhe’s got heavy boots/ i’m leaning he might be a bust
OT winner and gordie Howe hat trick in OHL top prospects game against Misa
You could probably find posts exactly like this if you went back in the Brady Tkachuk thread predraftThat was really the first time I watched a game of his and came away super impressed. Not sure if I just caught some bad ones before or what but if he's a for sure top 5 pick might indicate this draft is not looking like anything too special.

So you think he won't go back to junior or go to the NCAA (Michigan?) for a year? Or will that depend on what Chicago/San Jose/Buffalo/Nashville thinks?Martone doesn't have skating problems and will be a stud. #2 on my current list. Will play in the NHL next year. The whole year.
The NCAA thing could throw a wrench into things, given you have to make an earlier choice. But I think if it’s OHL or NHL I think he plays well enough through rookie camp, preseason, 9 games, and then the first half of the season to stick. He’s older than most top draft picks, more physical, bigger, stronger. All of that should work in his advantage. So you think he won't go back to junior or go to the NCAA (Michigan?) for a year? I dont care for Brady but he got shit talked so hard on here and by 25 is a 35 goal, point per game-ish winger that can hit and fight. If he had some leadership in Ottawa when he was coming up he would be way better than he is nowAnd that draft wasn't anything special either. Neither is Brady Tkachuk tbh despite the popular 'unicorn' misnomer.

Hes fading fast in the view of a lot of scouts based on what you said . I think its a weak draft so that’s only reason he’s looking at the top 5 .I wouldn't say he will be a bust but his pace and overall effort concern me a lot. I wouldn't take him in the top five.
I really doubt it. His engagement is lacking and his pace is cause for concern. I wouldn't be shocked to see him go in the 8-12 range.
16? Yeah rightIf he falls to where the Habs are currently slated to pick, I hope that HuGo 'Costanza' their way to the podium.
Where are they picking now? Not so outlandish now, is it?16? Yeah right
Oh? Why’s that?
Sounds a lot like Gabe Vilardi’s draft profile.Just from my perspective:
- if you look at his game outside of what he does below the dots in OZ it is not top 10 quality
- skating is borderline iffy
- physically ahead of peers
- older DOB
- decision-making and IQ isn't great outside of plays around net
- skill level is not bad but not great
- while he makes many great plays in those prime spots in OZ, I don't think he is as great at puck protection as he could be. A lot of it is flinging pucks quickly, much more rare to see him make a "second option" play.
I think because of what he does around the net and below the dots in OZ people imagine either Tkachuk brother and it's wishful thinking. I've seen both Tkachuks as draft eligible prospects and they looked better. More complete games, better IQ, more consistent effort. I understand that some of his unique qualities make him a huge draw and this doesn't feel like a very good draft either. But if I'm holding a top 10 pick, I'd still pass. Just my two cents.
Martone can't sniff Vilardi's IQ. And if Vilardi could skate better he'd be a much bigger plus player in all three zones.Sounds a lot like Gabe Vilardi’s draft profile.
