Eiserman won't join Minnesota until the 2024-25 season. This coming season Moore will be the #2 center behind Cooley.

Moore will go from #2 center behind Will Smith, Logan Cooley, and eventually Connor Bedard.

For the US U18 team he produced more than a point per game against NCAA competition this past season. That's without 1st PP unit time and not playing with Smith and Perrault. On rare occasions he played with Leonard. Certainly stranger things have happened but he should be the #2 center on Minnesota.
In some of the highlights, Moore looked great with Eiserman. 2 years at Minnesota getting a ton of playing time would be ideal for Moore. Playing with Eiserman would be fun ... that is if Eiserman even makes it there.

Think he will do one or two years in college?

Or how long before we see him in the NHL, 25-26, 26-27?
Likely a 2-year college player. Little reason not to be as he can sign at the end of his Sophomore season and get in a few games at the end of the year which will burn a year of ELC. So he'd be on the same contract track going that route. Only reason to go pro after Freshman year is if he really exceeds expectations (will be hard with Cooley there on the top line) and is eager to make some money with a more or less guaranteed NHL spot.

Don’t love his hockey mind and a lot of the time he seemed to make poor decisions on the ice. He is an incredible skater and plays the game hard. I think he’s definitely a Helm, Cogliano speed and D guy at his floor which is great, but don’t see a ton of upside offensively. I think he ends up as a 3C
I am a little like this. The question is will his mind catch up with his feet. It is a little tough to gage his true offense. He was playing on a 2nd line and 2nd PP unit. This US team had what they called the "big four" up front. The other 3 played together. There was a big drop in skill between Moore and his linemates. At times Moore looked like he was trying to do to much to score. Now was that a lack of IQ or him feeling he needed to kinda carry his line. Just hard to tell.

Now the absolute positive about this kid outside the top teir guys, to me he was the safest pick. I just think his floor is an elite 3rd line center, his speed, effort, and back checking, ect are elite/great. To me if his O IQ/creativity improve (or was more of a pressing thing do to his line) he a great 2nd line center, if not a shutdown 3rd line center.

Moore's work ethic doesn't get talked about enough. Kid works his ass off. And didn't realize the guy who recruited Moore to the NTDP is now a Hawks amateur scout.
For sure. The Hawks got 2 of the hardest workers in this draft. Both Bedard and Moore are gym/rink rats. You can see the work they put in at the gym during the combine. Despite being short 5'10 (Bedard) and 5'11 (Moore), they are built at 185 and 195 respectively.

I think he's one of the 10 best players in this draft. I'm honestly shocked that he was there at 19. The only real criticism would be his hockey sense and playmaking to be a 2nd line center. He hasn't really shown the ability to slow the game down. I think he ends up a top 6 winger and a very good one. If you would've told me before the draft that we get him and didn't have to trade up, I wouldn't have believed you. Honestly, Kyle can do whatever he wants tomorrow because he's playing with a helluva amount of house money.
I don't think I move him to wing. Just to good of a d center, with his speed and back checking. You loose some of his D game at winger. I feel on a cup team an elite shutdown 3rd line center just as big or bigger then a good scoring winger. Ideally his IQ/playmaking improves enough to be an elite 2 way 2nd line center.

I'm not for moving him to the wing already. I think he has plenty of time to develop and he's going to a great place for that to happen.

On the one hand each prospect's timeline should be based on their development and apart from other prospects' timelines - but on the other hand the big picture of all the prospects can't be ignored. I doubt the Hawks move any prospect forward before they're ready but might they hold a prospect back for a season because other prospects are being moved forward?

There are 3 high end forward prospects playing NCAA - Greene going into his 2nd season, Nazar going into his second season which is basically his 1.5 season, and Moore going into his 1st season. It's possible all 3 guys may be "ready" to turn pro after next season - would the Hawks want all 3 to leave college or would it be better for the plan to stagger one or two of them?

Sounds like Logan Cooley may be signing his ELC after all. Could mean a bigger role for Moore/higher chance of playing more center this year

Yeah I saw that. UMinn had that great line last season - Knies-Cooley-Snugerud - and now Knies and Cooley are gone. I wonder if Snugerud is also considering turning pro - if not I hope Moore gets lined up with him so he gets to play with a high end guy.

I would be a bit hesitant to say that was on par with McDavid. If not on par than just a notch below.

At the top of the circle, Moore decided to go. 2-3 steps later and he was gone.

Another elite puck moving D in the system would do wonders for the next 10 years.
beauty of next year draft is the d crop is better so if they play into pick 5-10 range then they add another defenseman but if they do draft top 2 again they still address a need which is support for bedard up front

Right now if the Hawks have a pick in the 7-13 range Adam Jiricek is on my list. I know he's ranked lower than that right now but I think he's gonna rise.

From Chris Peters

"Oliver Moore, C (Chicago Blackhawks): He scored a goal and showed his speed throughout the game. Moore had a more noticeable game than he’s had in the last few, but still hasn’t created as much as I think he’s capable of. That said, he takes advantage of the looks he gets and delivered a nice goal to open the game, showing a combination of his elite speed and high-end shot."

I like Jiricek alot. I don't think he's as talented as his brother offensively but in my opinion he's a better skater already. Kid is just as poised beyond his years just like big bro too and he can play physical. Plus he's 6'2 and is a right shot. Yes please.

I just hope he's not gone by the spot the Hawks pick.

Hawks should probably have a top 5 pick lol. The hope should be that Tampa Bay's pick is in the 11-15 range and he's available then.
Yup this. Don't want to wish injury on anyone but TB has a lot of injury prone players and way less depth this season. If they miss the playoffs I'd be pretty pumped, think there's pretty much zero chance they end up drafting top 10 (in which case we don't get the pick).

I don't think they're going to have a top 5 pick unless they win the lottery. I think there's 5-6 teams worse than them now that they have Bedard.
