I'm not too good at projections, but he really reminds me of Kaprizov at that age.

Last year I had to couch scout this kid because someone asked why anyone would take him over Chernyshov. I came away saying that Artamonov looks small and a little underpowered for the KHL, but is involved in the play, willing to engage in all zones, and importantly actually finds a way to get his name on the scoresheet.

Effectively, I came away saying Chernyshov was a big kid with fluid skating who looked good. Artamonov was a medium-small kid who looked like he had growing to do but actually is good.

Now Chernyshov has done very well in the OHL so now I look a little bit like an idiot, but I'm super happy to be vindicated on Artamonov so far. I hope this kid kills the devil and rains hellfire for Carolina.
