If you watch him live, you know he's making an NHL roster next season.

Even Colby feels that he may end up in the NHL next season. He has not committed to any school yet and he (most likely) will not as he will sign his ELC. Schools are talking to him and many other players but no firm bites yet from any big time player yet (think there will be a couple though)......BTW how's that Cam Robinson tweet holding up now??

If you take the bias out you’d know it’s not as clear cut as you think.

None of those guys were in the mix for the top 4 of the draft where as misa is. Believe if he goes top 4 that is the highest a Saginaw player has been chosen, correct?

I seem to remember one of us thinking Parekh is getting to the NHL much sooner than the other thinks he will. I make honest assessments of players to the best of my abilities whether someone plays for a team I support or not.

I wonder if he can have a Michkov / Bedard type rookie season, dude is really special. I see him potting about 45 points in his rookie year though realistically.

He's good and has certainly improved upon last year's performance but no, don't expect that. He will play some games in the NHL and may stick all season, but I can see him spending time in the AHL (providing CHL transferred agreement is modified as expected) or return to the OHL.

As for playing college next year, we will know a lot more about a lot of these high-end players as the draft approaches.

That 2nd goal will get attention and rightly so but the 1st one he had tonight I think exemplifies his best qualities. Comes through center ice with pace. Sees the double team coming. Passes off so that Saginaw gets a clean entry. Keeps moving. Bowls his way through the defender. Goes to the net. Buries his chance.

His prior season was far from poor and should have approximately zero bearing going forward given that he’s stepped into being the focal point on his team and is excelling in all aspects of the game.

I watched a few games of the OHL games. He was adequate. You could see why he got ES on the occasional shift, but not a big difference maker like you’d expect. I think he dealt with an injury and he wasn’t playing center for most of the season I believe.

He was excellent at the Hlinka, so it surprised me how he fell off, but I think all seasons for players should be taken into account. The fact that a poor season like that (relatively speaking of what poor means) is part of his locker is something I don’t think you just ignore when evaluating the player.

I’ll defer to you on his prior season, then.

My counter point would be that teams may see the difference between the two as indicative of a rawer player whose development curve that is pointed straight up, and/or a player who thrives under the pressure and big minutes of being “the guy.”

He was playing hurt the 2nd half of the season and into the post season. He looked like he was skating with 20 lb bags on him at all times. Took the summer to get healthy and it’s made a massive difference.

He was never generational. He had an otherworldly ohl cup and that was the tipping point to give him ES.

ES isn't what it used to be though, almost every year someone is at least considered for it. It basically just means you are the best player in Canada for that age group and a bit better than a "normal year" at this point.

Just in the last 5 years there are multiple players better at thay age than misa (Bedard, Dupont, McKenna) from Canada alone.

He had and still has elite potential, but he wasn't even close to generational, that's just unfair expectations
