NHL teams are big on trends so it's better this way than the other way around...like for example Matecha who just suddenly fell off a cliff after a dominant start last season. It's also not uncommon for European kids to need adjustment time in NA.

Looking at his history he looks to be a sniper type and might have a nice junior career but he needs a lot of work to be anything more than that.

He did it again and Mrtka maintains his .ppg pace as a 17 year old Dman in the WHL. Might have to buy a Seattle Jersey if this keeps up.lol

A closer look (stat watching baby!) and Pekar is top 4 in scoring despite that awful start... so he may be getting top 6 minutes and even top line by this point. Mrtka leads all D in scoring despite missing over 20 games is pretty impressive.
