Yep, according to 247Sports, he has football offers from Kent State, Marshall, Miami (OH), and South Dakota. Ranked as the 114th best QB in the Class of 2026 and ranked 10th amongst Minnesotans in the Class of 2026. Nothing too special in football. We'll see where this goes, but considering he's already playing well as a 2007 in the USHL, you'd think hockey is the better option for his career path in terms of making it pro.

I didn't even realize he was now playing USHL. Has 1+5=6 points in 9 games for Fargo.

He should go in the 2nd considering the talent, but if GMs don't get a "100% commitment to hockey" from him, he will fall. I've said in other threads that the talent drop off is significant late in the 2nd round going into the early 3rd round, so 2nd round is where West should go based on pure talent. I think a team with multiple picks in the 2nd and 3rd round would be most likely to gamble on him; I'm looking at teams like Philadelphia, Nashville, Boston, Seattle, San Jose to gamble in the 2nd on West (if they're sure he's playing hockey in the NCAA).

kid that was a stud in both sports and fielding tons of offers.

This is years back but I remember him as being a year older than me.

First rounder for Calgary in the 86 draft and had scholarship offers to play LB for Notre Dame. Penn State and Minnesota.

Good piece on him here and in the picture you can see that he wasn't just some big guy he was lean scary strong big for a hockey player.

Could he be a first round pick? His stats are legit.

He’s not any shorter than Letourneau, and probably a better skater.

Different players, but has more of a junior track record at the same age and his track record is better than Letourneau at that age.

He's at best going to be a 2nd round pick due to the potential of him just playing football. Pure talent, he's the type that several teams would draft in the late 1st, I just don't see that happening unless he stops playing football right now.

Is it me or is this a really weak draft for depth USA kids from the USHL? Like who is going second - third round non ntdp kids from the USHL? . I would take him and Rombach and maybe Kevan but it’s not like it’s a group of 10-20 kids .
