He might be good at football, but we're talking about him as the equivalent of like a top 75 football recruit for hockey. If he was that, he'd have offers from pretty much all the big football schools.
Yep, according to 247Sports, he has football offers from Kent State, Marshall, Miami (OH), and South Dakota. Ranked as the 114th best QB in the Class of 2026 and ranked 10th amongst Minnesotans in the Class of 2026. Nothing too special in football. We'll see where this goes, but considering he's already playing well as a 2007 in the USHL, you'd think hockey is the better option for his career path in terms of making it pro.He might be good at football, but we're talking about him as the equivalent of like a top 75 football recruit for hockey. I didn't even realize he was now playing USHL. Has 1+5=6 points in 9 games for Fargo.Yep, according 247Sports, he has football offers from Kent State, Marshall, Miami (OH), and South Dakota. He should go in the 2nd considering the talent, but if GMs don't get a "100% commitment to hockey" from him, he will fall. I've said in other threads that the talent drop off is significant late in the 2nd round going into the early 3rd round, so 2nd round is where West should go based on pure talent. I think a team with multiple picks in the 2nd and 3rd round would be most likely to gamble on him; I'm looking at teams like Philadelphia, Nashville, Boston, Seattle, San Jose to gamble in the 2nd on West (if they're sure he's playing hockey in the NCAA).He’ll be under-drafted if goes Rd 3, IMO. He’s a 6’5” or 6’6” RHS with vision and hands and is a natural athlete. I think he goes in the 2nd.
This is years back but I remember him as being a year older than me.this guy is super intriguing. wasn't there another kid in a similar spot a few years ago? not spellacy. another minnesota
kid that was a stud in both sports and fielding tons of offers.
