yeah he'll be the Cs #1 C next year and imagine they'll put Surkan+Sivertson on his wings. Surkan is a 1st round talent but might fall to 2nd/3rd because of size, Sivertson should've went in the 2nd last year but fell to 4th because of skating concerns. Pat Cs have a really good class coming in as does Warman so think they'll be the 2 top teams but never rule out the Blazers

Wasn’t present at ccm 68 combine last week. Anyone know why? Just interesting because he would’ve been one of the top names.

So that means that the two best ‘10 born talents weren’t there? Odd.

Crazy, maybe they have a more high profile tournament going on? Seems odd.

It was the first time the CCM 68 was missing a lot of the top names. Rumor is they got money hungry and a lot of kids that had no business there paid their way

Top players not attending because of the cost isnt very characteristic of aaa hockey parents tho, so it is interesting. I cannot imagine the cost was a powerful enough deterrent

It wasn’t a deterrent, moreso word got around who was and wasn’t attending and others jumped ship. There was kids there who wouldn’t have even been considered in years past, but their parents paid wild amounts above cost just to attend

Why is no one talking about this kid's monster season? 1.94ppg at age 14, in the same league where Yager/Heidt didn't even hit ppg and Catton had 1.95 at age 15. Is exceptional status real?
Have heard he's going to apply and pretty good chance he'll get it. Has been unreal this year and driving the Pat Cs offense. To be fair to Yager+Heidt they had a 2nd line role but Schultz looks on another level, keeps progressing.

Moose Jaw will most likely finish last so Oil Kings will have the best odds at him with maybe Seattle or Regina as those seem like the likely bottom 3 teams

If he continues to destroy the U18 league, requests it and is denied, I see a good possibility that he will go to the BCHL, because it doesn't make sense for him to go back to the U18s

He's not actually 'destroying' that league. Multiple 15 year olds are putting up similar or better stats. Chorney is over 2 pts/gm (Van/#10). I don't mean to diminish his ability, just to point out that his numbers aren't as special as some here are saying. If he's actually a special talent, I'll take on the word of the Sasky hockey community.

except they are because he's the only 14 yr old in the league, Chorney+Stroeder are very special talents themselves(why both went high 1st last year) and he has 11 more points than the next player on his team. As a underager he is "destroying" the league

Yeah i'm aware he's 14 and putting up numbers similar to the top 15's. That's awesome, it still doesn't look like 'destroying' the league from where i sit (2 provinces over). Not close to Bedard or Dupont and there the only ones to get ES out west.
Personally i think the whole ES thing is over-rated and over-debated personally. I'd let any of them who're good enough play if it was up to me.

Generally Sask focuses more on defense so the numbers are going to be lower

Is 2 points per game and leading the league by 10 points good enough for you yet?

Schultz is a special talent, and certainly the early favorite for 1OA in the 2028 draft. His skating is elite, and is something that should help separate him from most other prospects in his class.

His parents are figure skating coaches per this article, an interesting detail given the translatibility of the edge work to hockey

Genuine question as I’m unfamiliar with prospects this young, are there any players that could challenge him for first overall in the bantam draft?
