He is special. I don't have an apt description for what separates him from others beyond superlatives like cerebral and instinctual, but he is a full package threat. If I could pick any player from the last 3 drafts for my team to have, I think it would be Macklin Celebrini. He is so fun to watch. BU is apparently must see hockey this season, didn't think I would ever say that.

USA Hockey have too be proud of their track record for developing players since 2015 - Jack Eichel, Auston Matthew's, the Tkachuk's, All 3 Hughes brothers, Beniers, Cooley, Fantilly, and now Macklin Celebrini and Cole Yserman... the future looks so bright
You are nothing if not dedicated to the bit. Though you seem to be forgetting Cale Makar.

Canada and London must take some credit for Matthew Tkachuk then, no?

Edit - Jack Hughes played GTHL as well and applied for ES into OHL, another Canadian product :sarcasm:

Obviously a ton of things to like. Explosive skater. Quick hands. Great in tight and also at creating space. I personally wonder if he has that truly elite hockey mind that a lot of superstars in the NHL have. Regardless he's a great player. Just unsure of how great, yet.

I feel like people underrate his goal scoring ability because he doesn’t quite have an elite shot. He’s a 40 goal scorer in the nhl imo. Just so good at putting himself in good positions to score

Another impressive showing from Celebrini. Yesterday I thought he looked like a 1st overall caliber player. Today he was relatively quiet through 2 periods, but when the chips were down came through with two big plays. Scored a goal on the power play to tie the game at 2. Then scored again with around 2 minutes left to tie the game at 3.

I didnt see a ton of him last year, but watching him at BU, he's better than I thought he was. He's good at everything. He battles. He's made some real good defensive plays. In my view there is a large gap between Celebrini/Eiserman and everyone else.

I know comps aren't everyone cup of tea, but do you have stylistic ones for both Celebrini and Eiserman?

I really struggle to think of a comp that I like for Celebrini. Coming into the year I would have said a wealthy man's Ryan Nugent Hopkins, but I think he's better than that. He probably grades 9/10 at everything but there's no one aspect of the game that's projects to be best in NHL. Maybe a more well rounded Seguin.

Eiserman is a pure goal scorer through and through. If he reaches his upside he's putting up 45+ a year every year through his prime. I'd say if Tarasenko is a 1 and Kovalchuk is a 10, Eiserman is a 5.

I think perhaps Brayden Point as a comparable for Celebrini?
