It's there. I believe he said that. But in Ambri the hope was he'd stay for 2 years because that's when he was expected to make the move.
Also, if the initial interest wasn't as high as he wanted it to be, he probably just decided not to gamble and sign if the Swedish offer was a good one.
It's also a pretty nasty injury he suffered and he wasn't the same afterwards. Maybe that was a concern for NHL clubs or he didn't feel ready to make the jump himself because of it.
I don't know about his family situation or ties but that also could have played a role.
He's not gonna lose much. If he plays well in Sweden then the interest from NHL team is gonna be higher than now.
