It's early but I think he's the best Swedish player for the 2025 draft. Good size already and very skilled. It will be fun to see him this season with the TV-pucken starting next weekend.

Watched him recently and I disagree.

While Ihs has size and skills (good vision and offensive zone passing in particular), based on the little we've seen last season he is not among the most effective Swedish players for 2025 when talking about his overall game. Soft player at this early stage, also lacking sense of urgency and effort away from the puck.
Have yet to watch him play this season though.

Not the fastest of skaters from what I have seen. Poor defensive game. Needs to play with skilled players or else he disappears. But, a high scoring player and among the Swedish 07's that have stood out the most this early. Have a feeling many will surpass him though, eventually.

How has he looked this autumn? I haven’t seen him play since TV-Pucken last year. Then I think he reminded me a bit of a mid-career Sundin, minus some physicality perhaps. But really good hockey sense and good passing. He kind of looked slow, but still had separation speed when needed. Is he still 6’2 or has he grown since then?

Has very good IQ for sure, a good shot and a strong passing game. My issue is that he does everything in low speed. And I am still not sure if it is because he is (that) good or if he lacks intensity/speed. Some of the best players out there control the pace and look slow, while their minds are doing all the work.

All in all, he does not look faster this season than last year, unlike for example Anton Frondell who has improved his skating incredibly. So, personally a bit torn about how highly I regard him. Have watched him play 10 or so times this season, but I feel I need more viewings, lol.

I’m not saying he has comparable talent, but some players just seem to have that extra time with the puck and that make them look less urgent or even slow. I guess that’s based upon hockey sense. From a Swedish perspective the Sedins and Backstrom comes to mind of examples of this. In best case Jakob is that kind of player too, but time will tell I guess. I need to watch more games of him obviously.

2 goals today. 1.40ppg, higher than Raymond/Holtz, two top 10 picks from 2020.
Are we talking about a potential top-10 pick, or could his skating knock him to the end of the first round or beginning of the second?

His skating isn’t a big issue imo. It’s about average, like most things in his game.

I don’t really see any standout offensive tools that will translate to point production at higher levels though. I can easily see him becoming a pretty decent depth player eventually.

How can you say that a 16 year old, who is scoring at this pace in the Swedish U20 league, lacks standout offensive tools? Firstly, it is extremely rare that 16 year olds produces at this rate in this leauge.

Secondly, look at the players who has actually done it or anywhere close. In recent years, only Noah Östlund, Lucas Raymond and Alexander Holtz has been close, but still not matching Ihs Wozniak's ppg. We have to back to the 12-13 season, when someone namned William Nylander actually scored at a higher pace.

Feel free to name a standout offensive tool then? All I see is you mentioning points and things that are apparently extremely rare.
