My man ! Thanks for the heads up. No clue how that happened
3 goals 2 assists 5 points.
Best playmaker in the draft. Given his slight frame if he files out he can be a beast.
Reminds me of Nick Backstrom. Going top 10 forsure.
You think he'd go to the NCAA next year or the year after with CHLers now NCAA eligible?O’Brien was a wildcard from this draft. There were a lot of rumours he would go to the NCAA unless he went to Brantford. He was seen as a very good offensive player due to his high IQ and ability to lead an offence. Turns out, he made it to Brantford and has made the transition to the OHL seamlessly. He is probably the second best player from this draft and has been an impactful OHLer since day one. He has amazing offensive awareness and understands the ins and outs of how to create offence in the OHL. He looks to be a top-10 pick in the upcoming NHL draft and we could see him end up with a 100 point season in the OHL. Truly a stud at this level and likely in the NHL.
Third best after Hagens and Martone. You mean, second best playmaker after Hagens?
Why should the production be taken with a grain of salt? Not criticizing but the production is what it is, unless you’re talking about the actual strength of the league. Then again there’s a ton of draft prospects this year from the OHL.Third best after Hagens and Martone.
Definitely could see O'Brien go top-10, but the production should be taken with a grain of salt.
He's the third leading scorer on his own team, and last time I checked a few weeks ago a disproportionate amount of his production was on the PP.Why should the production be taken with a grain of salt? Not criticizing but the production is what it is, unless you’re talking about the actual strength of the league. Then again there’s a ton of draft prospects this year from the OHL.
No. He's a better playmaker than Hagens. You mean, second best playmaker after Hagens?
No. He's a better playmaker than Hagens.
O’Brien isn’t even first of 2025 eligibles in the OHL in assists and he’s the best playmaker in the whole world for 2025?No. He's a better playmaker than Hagens.
Not a great comp. O’Brien way better vision and offensive ability with his puck skills. Like you mentioned Ritchie more well rounded.Ngl he feels like a Ritchie 2.0. Both tall, slender, playmaking RHC except Obrien blew up his draft year while Ritchie went 27th and blew up his D+1. I think both could 2C but Ritchie feels more well rounded and Obrien is more of a powerplay guy.
Maybe makes a Barret Hayton type leap into the top10.
not even a jump i’d say he’s easily on the top 10 at this point.Maybe makes a Barret Hayton type leap into the top10.
I could see it
Better playmaker and passer. Vision and skating ability around equal. The consensus does this every year. They try to wishcast one or two guys into being big risers. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.
I don’t see how you can have this guy above Martone. What does he do distinctly better other than his position is more valuable? I would give Martone the edge in every other category. Martone also had the same amount of points this season in 9 less games.
