Could be a steal when you realize his long term center could be a two way beast like Beniers.
Seattle absolutely killed this draft with picking up Wright and then getting a pair of speedy offensive dynamos in Firkus and Goyette and a guy who could develop into an elite puck mover from the back end in Nelson. For a brand new club, their future is already looking potentially bright after grabbing Beniers, Winterton, and Evans last year.

Still don't understand how Firkus didn't get taken in the late 1st round at least, ahead of so many of the kids who did get taken before him. He and Lambert were two fallers that still really baffle me.

Feel like Seattle got an extra first round pick getting him. That's basically what a prospect of his caliber amounts to.

What are some reasonable expectations for his development from here? Finish out the season strong then take a couple of seasons to fill out in the AHL? Hoping he can pan out and be a top 6 fixture for the Kraken long term.

This sounds reasonable to me, or one season with Coachella at least. We'll see if Seattle's scoring issues continue long term because that may lead to bringing the kids like he and Goyette up ahead of schedule.

For sure. He's still listed as 160 lbs, which is tiny on a 5'11 frame. Let him cook for a few years and learn the pro game.
