This guy is going to be an elite player for a long, long time
Sorry haters and losers!
Yes but what about Daniel SprongIncredible that he’s almost PPG with 12 min of basically 100% even strength play per game.
People don’t realize how much more difficult 5v5 points are….top scorers get half their points on the PP.
With normal PP time he’s the top scorer in the KHL right now and it’s not even a debate.
I don't care about the comparison. They're different players and Demidov should fit in really well as somehow we don't lack guys who can finish anymore. We will never know, will we? Other factors could come into play such as fatigue, possible injuries, etc.
Which is what his post was about.
Just really even if he had less points is not about that, look at the big picture. Proving every day a little bit more that he has that something to become a dominant NHL player. I thought Michkov was better from the very start but after what I've seen from Ivan this year... I think it's debatable
Also keep in mind he's doing it playing four minutes less per game than michkov and averaging 40 seconds of pp time while others played 2.5 minutes+.
Easily a better prospect than michkov.
The last guy that could do that any time he wanted and it lasted his entire career was Lemieux and a bit less in Kovalev. To be honest, having watched him this past month more attentively, what amazes me is less so the points and more so his attitude (never giving up) and how he constantly dazzles on the ice.
Like... some guys can pull off a nifty move every now and then, but with Demidov you can tell his talent is just off the charts. He can always dangle/deke other players out of nowhere. I'm not even sure there's many NHL stars that can play hockey like he does.
Still, I'll wait until he plays in the NHL to better judge if he can do that regularly against the top players in the world, but the KHL is not a bad league. I'm quite impressed.
If the Habs organization was still led by dinosaurs, I'd be worried they'd stiffle this talent, but I'm a lot more confident with who's running the show now.
I think the number of NHL'ers that can do what he can do at full speed during gameplay can probably be counted on one hand. The NHL most definitely has defensemen who he won't be able to dance, where he'll have to learn to choose a safer play. But let's be honest here; the moves we've seen him pull off against KHL defensemen will work against a good number of NHL d-men. He's going to have to pick his spots, but the speed at which he adapted to KHL play bodes very well. It took Hutson 20 games, I doubt it takes Demidov that long.To be honest, having watched him this past month more attentively, what amazes me is less so the points and more so his attitude (never giving up) and how he constantly dazzles on the ice.

I've never seen a player like this in the Canadiens organisation its so weird.....I don't think anything can stop this kid....his drive and attitude are insane , it's gonna take some divine intervention for him to bust.To be honest, having watched him this past month more attentively, what amazes me is less so the points and more so his attitude (never giving up) and how he constantly dazzles on the ice.
