Chronic? He had a surgery in, iirc, February 2023, then missed 6 months and I don't think he missed any time since then.

San Jose likely had their eye on Chernyshov for a while considering he's a teammate and sometimes linemate of Rimashevsky.

No doubt SJ will likewise be very familiar with Ryabkin for next years draft.

They have a single 3rd to move so essentially no picks. They have some younger players that could move but for the most part, the lineup will be the lineup.

Kucherov played all of 50 games in NA outside of the NHL. He also came a year later than Chernyshov.

But yes, if Chernyshov rips it up like Kucherov did or Svechnikov did, he could always be an exception. All the data we have suggests he wont be. He's more likely to be the next Gushchin.
