What’s with the MHL production dip this season? Just not as good as people thought he was or am I missing something. EP had him as a borderline top 20 pick and he’s seemingly regressed.

I feel like MHL again this year would be lower competition level than wanted… he was above ppg 2 years ago there

MHL? Not impressed. Why was he demoted from Omskie Krylia of the VHL?
Avangard guys have sort of soured on him, reportedly they actively tried to trade him, but there were no buyers.

He looks bigger to me. Do you know if he has been adding some weight/muscle this season? Shot looks better too…
He is just 19, he should be getting bigger and stronger pretty naturally.

So Trikozov seems to be playing a step ahead (only based on his highlights.. yeah, I know.) compared to his peers. He's got the skating abilities, the speed, the size, the shot. So why isn't he playing at least in the KHL ? What's his next step ?

As far as I understand he's going to go to NA so Omsk prefers to play other players.

as Trikozov is playing in the MHL, I know it might be a bit difficult to rate his development ... but is there someone who can? I would be interested ;-)

To me he's doing ok, he's about where he should be. It looks like he's going to go to NA so they sent him to MHL, the same situation as with Demidov, but Demidov is signed for another year, and Trikozov's contract is over in 1.5 months. I think he'll play in the AHL next season, and it's going to be a good test for him.

Classic European Pro stuff: young player likely going to North America soon, so the organization says "F**k you, you're not going to get ice time here" leading to development stagnation.

MHL is a good league, so I don't call it stagnation. Most Canadian prospects play junior hockey till the same age.

The best Russians who stay there like Trikozov should be getting time in the K, but they don't give it to him for likely obvious reasons

For top KHL teams it's pretty rare when youngsters become regulars at age 19. You gotta be someone like Kaprizov or Michkov, and Trikozov isn't as good, at least right now.
