Currently (according to EP) Frank is 2nd in points in the AHL (behind former Hawk Vinny Hinostroza). 4th in PPG (minimum 10 games played) in the A. 1st in both those categories for U23.
For the sake of a fun comparison, similarly undersized forward Logan Stankoven last year (at the age Nazar is now) had a 1.21ppg in the AHL. Nazar is currently at 1.33ppg. And Stankoven had Mavrik Bourque to play with, MB putting up over a PPG pace (1.08) last season on that team. The next best player on the Icehogs, points-wise, is Colton Dach who is under a PPG (0.89).
That's not to say Nazar is going to be better than Stankoven, who is in the running right now for the calder. It's not even saying he's on Logan's level. But the comparison is to further illistrate how well Frank Nazar has performed so far this season.
He might not have gotten all that much attention these last two years (in due part to his hip), but if you're one of those nerds on this site that bothers to pay attention to prospects in opposing farm systems, pay attention to Frank. He's looking damn good right now. And all his plays are highlight reels.
