A week or two back:
"There’s a goal of (Nazar) maybe in a couple weeks jumping on the ice, but I have no clue if he’s gonna be back or not,” Naurato told reporters Tuesday. “If it is, it’s a huge bonus. If Frankie does come back, he’ll be at 100%. For me, it’s the same reason you get the surgery, you think about their body, and he’s got 15-20 years of hockey, so just thinking about the kid."

He’s gonna be dynamite in college but we may not see him fully wheeling and dealing until next season. Gonna have to get his sea legs under him after hip surgery. The fact that his timetable seemingly moved up is great news though. It is not surprising that he would attack his rehab as relentlessly as he plays on the ice.

Next year he will be a collegiate and WJC star. Bank on it.

Very excited to see his return. Had him #5 at the draft and after seeing early returns on some others, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him turn out the best player from the 2022 class.

Does anyone actually know the type of surgery he had? Seems it's a closely-guarded secret?

P.S. I love the whole "III" thing.

I watched 5 or 6 UM games after Nazar came back from injury and he looked OK but it was hard to tell if he was 100% back to normal. He was playing 3rd line center and wasn't really in the mix with the high end players - which is understandable because the team was rocking and Nazar was given a lesser role rather than upset the team dynamic. So OK, but was it that or was it because he wasn't back to being the dynamic skater he was before the surgery?

I suppose we will not know completely until the college season starts when he will be in a position to take a more prominent role (with Fantilli and Brindley gone). His 4 goals and 1 assist against Sweden in the Summer Showcase last night was fantastic but all I've seen are highlights and we all know highlights can be fools gold. I saw one tweet that commented Nazar's play looked to be back to pre-surgery level - but that's only one opinion from someone I don't know - so, I'm trying to temper my enthusiasm.

Anyone see the game and can give a report?

I was extremely high on Nazar at the draft. Basically had him rated even with Cooley.

I very excited to see what he can do with a healthy season from the beginning. Looks like he's in full swing at the Summer Showcase.

Brindley won't be gone.

Brindley will be back and he will probably play with him. Nazar himself said he feels great now, and that when he came back from the surgery at UM, he just felt slow. Hockey brain slow, feet slow, wasn't processing the game. He said towards the end it felt like it was all coming back. Culminated with a great showing here, hopefully he rocks this season.
