I don't know about his mentality, approach, character, but when people talk about small, skill players that that aren't playoff performers, obviously they aren't talking about Point. They are talking about other players.

From what I see, Nazar is the type of player they'd be talking about. I find him to be the type of player who at his best can score four points and win the game for his team, and then the next game he's completely invisible, taking some bad penalties, turning the puck over, and making bad defensive plays. I think he's very one-dimensional. There's skill and offensive ability, but there's not a lot else. Cooley is the type of player that I view as a lot closer to Point. Savoie could also be similar to that Point type of player, but he's probably a better skater and less skilled overall than Cooley/Point. Nazar is not that similar to those players, in my opinion. I think there are other smaller skill players to compare him to. Clayton Keller is who I'd compare Nazar to as a ceiling.

I've seen the inconsistency, there are too many games where he disappears. Maybe Keller is his ceiling but I think Nazar is a lot stronger with more inside tendencies than Keller. He just doesn't show up every game.

In watching an elite prospects youtube clip/scouting video of Nazar the comparison that came up for me was a right handed Nazem Kadri (my comparison, not theirs), does that track for people who have seen a bunch of his games?

Sportsnet had him at #17 - seems low, no? I thought the consensus was closer to 10?

I have him at 16, but I could see the argument for ranking him as high as 10 or 11. Some people have him top 5, and while I don't really agree with that I can see their perspective.

Has nowhere near that grit. Right handed Clayton Keller.

He probably wasn’t going to be one of the leaders this year. It would’ve been good if he could’ve had a full season this season to transition to one of the leaders next, but if he can get some games at the end of m this season, he’ll be able to get up to the speed of NCAA hockey, and can be a leader next season.

He was best off not rushing to signing with Chicago anyway. 2 years of college hockey isn’t a bad thing for him.

Sorry don’t have a subscription, when did the injury occur? Strange to decide when the season begins, and not earlier if this has been a known issue.

Doesn't say when injury occurred, but said he participated in world junior camp and Blackhawks development camp and he was injured when he arrived at Michigan. Doesn't provide any specific details about when, or how.

Obviously I hope he can fully recover and have no linger effects or recurrences - but even if that happens - missing a season as a developing 18 year old player could set him back possibly more than 1 year.
