Unless someone is sure fire elite they aren't going to instantly produce like people expect. This will be especially funny when it happens to Hughes, but I digress.

Zadina's skating looked good and he created some space to get a few decent chances, albeit not very high quality. For his second NHL game, I'll take it. I think he'll be fine and ready for next season after they pinpoint what he needs to improve after his short stint. Or he's already a bust. Whatever the brain trust of HFBoards says.

I'm honestly surprised by how good Zadina has looked. Even though I've been impressed with his overall game down in Grand Rapids, I've still had more than a few doubts about how that would translate to the NHL (especially given the state of Detroit's team) early on. I've become pretty leery of kids who earn their status for their sniper abilities foremost.

Still very raw but further ahead than I expected with his speed, strength and two-way play (even though he's already defensively above average down in the A). Really thought he'd be invisible if he wasn't playing with Larkin. Not the case at all. This kid looks like a line driver and I really think the skating issues have been overblown. Edgework isn't elite but he's well above average everywhere else IMO.

He was one of Detroits best players against the Coyotes for sure. I would say Larkin was the only one better

Jack Hughes is one of the ten best passers of the puck I have seen in my life, he should adjust pretty well. We should be hoping he passes the puck to Zadina, those two could work a lot of magic as a line. I am not as high on Zadina as most of our board, but I think he will evolve into a good player, he is a guy that is a rink rat and gym rat from most accounts. I think along with Larkin, Glendening and guys like that they should push him. I am hoping to hear he is training in Detroit with Larkin, but I guess we will have to wait and see what the approach is. Zadina is coming along nicely, he is far better now than he was in October and now has a whole summer to address some of his physical limitations.

Impressed by this kid thus far. Hoping to see him togeather with 1st OA Kaapo Kakko next year :naughty:

Hes surprised me on this call up. I think he needs another summer in the gym, but he is incredibly talented and I think he'll have a great career.

Im really hoping he goes back to the AHL and tears it up all through the playoffs, has a great offseason, and easily makes the team out of camp with our newest draftee hughes/kakko,. Then we can watch some fun hockey.

> Mentions physical limitations
> Jack Hughes will adjust fine

You aren't high on Zadina because he was taken over Quinn Hughes. Yes, we should hope for Jack Hughes. And we shouldn't be surprised that it will take a kid who can get blown over by the wind a couple years to reach his potential. Or maybe he hits 100 points right out of the draft. Whatever you think.

I wasn't high on the Zadina pick because I had him 8th or 9th on my board, I will have to dig back. It wasn't just Quinn Hughes who yes I had third.

Despite only one point so far, he's actually been surprisingly good in his call up. You can definitely see the talent.

I agree.

Zadina has looked great and is creating chances on his own.

Unless something happens, he will be up full time next season.

I thought he was great in Colorado, certainly deserved to get rewarded with that goal late. It was a good idea for Detroit to get him in some games before the end of the season.

hes been shockingly good the past few games, doing a lot of little stuff that makes a difference.

from game 1 to now, big improvement. very shocked.
kid has passion, drive and lot of skill.
should be fun to watch him progress.

You must have an psychosis if you think Hughes is better go to bed

You must have psychosis if you think Kakko is better lol. Go to bed

When scouts still have Hughes going first, he must be that much better.

What is wrong with that?

I like how you throw insults for no reason.

Kakko supporters have serious issues lol

Lol says the guy with that nikname. You are the one so damn obsessed with Hughes going first that you have to hate on Kakko like that. He is the better prospect im sorry to habe to break to you. Im sure Hughes is great but not as gpod as Kakko. That is just a fact. You are the one insulting people with that nickname. You dont belong here on these forums. Scouts ha e hin at 1 for now because ofsteong NA bias. Just wait till the draft and yoy will see
