With the projected cap rise in a few years 2.5 won't seem like too much. Basically an excellent 4C, something the leafs haven't had for ages before him so I get locking him down for 4 more years

Little more than I figured. He's only 28 so not terrible. In a couple years this is nothing with the cap going up and he can be traded but I think it should work out overall.

They need to free up salary. Muzzin is going LTIR plus Murray could be gone.

Out of all our pending UFA’s, Kampf was one of the ones I wouldn’t mind coming back. A little higher than I’d have hoped for at 2.5 but hopefully in years 2+ of that contract it’ll be a good deal with the salary cap jumping up.

Could have just payed Holmberg near league minimum. We can't have Matthews be willing to take a paycut to improve the team and then waste an extra 1.5M on a 4C for 4 years..
