F Cole Reschny - Northern Alberta Xtreme, CSSHL (2025 Draft)

Watched the game tonight.

Besides his offensive abilities which has already been discussed, i would note that he's on the 1st penalty kill unit and was over 50% in the dot. At even strength he was matched up against Cristall and Catton most of the night and was excellent. It wasn't by accident he ended the game +2.

Very impressive night despite the OT loss.

For sure. Whoever gets him, and wherever they get him will be very happy with their selection I am sure. I remember he scored that OT winner in that CHL/NTDP game and what a hell of a goal it was. Kids a gamer.

You have the 18th pick in draft, Ben Kindel and Reschny both on the board. Who do you take?

Spokane dominated the game in the 1st period. Got one back. Spokane sometimes just turns it on and take over (like yesterday)

Agreed. I feel Victoria is playing a LA Kings/NY Islanders style gameplan trying to shutdown the Chiefs while waiting for their opportunities to score. Not sure it's going to be enough. The Royals struggle when the top line isn't on the ice or Verhoeff and Kipke isn't defending.

According to elite prospects he's committed to Tennessee State university next year.
Yes I saw that with a bunch of other 20 and 21 year olds from all over the place.

I also looked and John Hicks doesn't have a thread maybe he should?

Goalie gap. I think Cowan injured, and Esler is too young, too immature, gave up a lot easy goals. But Royals definitely played very well, good defensive game, then look forward odd man rush chance.

He's about to turn 20 in September, and he's undersized. He also looks a lot smaller than 5'11.

But man, he's a good goalie. Super super quick reflexes. I don't think he will be drafted though.

Has Carolina Hurricanes pick written all over him. I know scouching is higher on Kindel because of his explosiveness offensively, but I am taking Reschny because of his defensive responsibility. The Canes need a 2C and this guy could be that for the future. Jarvis, Blake, Stankoven, all defensively sound wingers in the Canes system, but short.
